Indus Water Treaty us very powerful bargaining chip on our side.

Is it a bargaining chip? Until....the following happens and the entire Indus and a few others are diverted to Pakistan? I hope sane heads and common sense prevails. There are many more millions on the path of these rivers on the Indian side, than there will be effected Pakistanis.

Also remember, many countries now build huge dams around the Oceans, semi cleanse their water and run them up the river or feed empty rivers through networked water canals. The Ocean water, once refined a little to remove 50% of the Salt, has huge mineral and food diet in it to grow plants and cultivate the land.

Both Karmali and other tributary are important only for Nepal as they contribute less than 5% to Ganges water flow.

Similarly Chinese part of Brahmaputra contributes only 29% of Indian part Brahmaputra's water flow, only BE depends on Brahmaputra and it is 40% water surplus.

"Long story short they wont" because you think so? Go ask your PM, I've heard about how frustrated he is at failing at "isolating Pakistan". We are all watching the isolation. China can divert the entire Indus from even getting to India or elsewhere. I think you clearly didn't read the map. In fact, they cut down that main river for a few weeks, and Modi started to cry and kick dust.

I agree with you. Treaties should be fair to all...both countries should share water proportionatly..... Pakistani population livening along these rivers is 20 times more than indian population living along the natural flow of water. Pakistan should get 95% share and india should get 5% water of 6 rivers.

You can take 95% of share of water reaching Pakistan ,remember that still 5% of the Indian water will be still flowing in Pakistan..
