Pakistan, Turkey outline defence industry collaboration plans

. .
In the current war scenarios, any country's first choice is the latest Air Defence System. The Islamic world is lacking such system and is the need of the time. I think Turkey & Pakistan should invest heavily on 50-50% basis same as was done in case of JF-17 and go for an advanced Low-Medium-High Altitude Air Defence System with indigenous SAMs and related RADARs and Electronic Warfare Systems.
Once you have an impregnable air defence system you will be considered a power to reckon with.

. .
I hope the Pakistani navy goes for the new Turkish ships i.e. Í-class-frigate 3,500-4,500t ASW and TF-2000-class Air defense frigate 7,000 AAW.

Oh and tanks please! Come on Altay!
Frigates and Corvettes should be first priority than APC and IFV and Sniper Gun.

.
NO!

We just need to improve our AK.

I hope for a yes! Or we will be waiting for years to see that happen. There have been far too many rumours of an improved model/ new version and nothing has come of it.

They are working and production will begin soon but when they would reveal it can't say

there is alot of potential between the nations but sadly it is not being properly exploited:

High on rhetoric, Pakistan, Turkey flunk as trading partners

Often the businessmen from the two sides have failed to accomplish feasible ventures due to the language barrier. The Turks don't understand any language but Turkish, which a small number of Pakistanis can speak. There is no question of finding one certified expert each in Urdu and Turkish in both the nations. Many trade deals signed with good intentions have fallen prey to differing interpretations of the agreements.

The most bizarre excuse I came across.
If this would be reason then civilizations never able to trade with each other (irony without digital era).
Turkey do trade with all over the world, so, its brush apart this excuse. @Neptune
Indo-Turkey bilateral trade is currently $ 7.5 billion & target is $ 22 billion in 7 years.
I don't think India have any significant no. of Turkish speakers or Turkey have Hindi speakers.

That's right, that can't be an excuse. What is English for then?

7.5 isn't bad but unfortunately due to political stance of Turkey; a lot of potential between Turkey and India is either lost or won't happen, specially in tourism, IT, defense and transportation

Masha'Allah Pakistan enjoy its position who have such a great historical relations with worlds key players...
Turkey is one of the main door for europe. I hope Pak Turkey work together on air carrier and radar tech joint corp just like Pak china..

Frankly speaking, turks r expensive and hate to give any discount. Thats what's stopping more cooperation between two countries. Chinese offer similar orxbetter systems at much less prices.

Turkish weaponry's quality is pretty good, its a good alternative to US weapons systems which we have been procuring, If we have been buying expensive US weapons including gunships and F-16's and BVR's , whats stopping us to buy Turkish weaponry. No country gives discounts, Chinese simply issue loans for those purchases, please correct yourself . There is already cooperation between Pak and Turkey going on in the naval sector , it should be extended to to Army.

Chinese equipment actually gives the most bang per buck. There is no comparison to that level of cut-throat pricing.
