ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is expected to strike a number of important business agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Belarus during the visit of the Vitaly Vovk, the minister for industry of the Eastern European country, a statement said on Friday.
“This visit is reflective of the increasing ties between the two countries and will certainly provide impetus to expand bilateral relations in trade and commerce,” Rais Ghulam Murtaza Khan, federal minister for industries and production said talking to his Belarusian counterpart, who called on him at his residence.
The minister said that these agreements would not only strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries but will also provide innumerable business and investment opportunities to the business communities of both countries.
“Pakistan offers excellent opportunities for foreign investors especially as a result of CPEC. Belarusian investors can make use of the incentives provided by the Government of Pakistan and can get benefitted from the Special Economic Zones, Khan added. Later, Vovk informed Khan the Belarusian delegation was keen to explore mutual beneficial business opportunities through business-to-business deals with Pakistani counterparts.
“Bilateral relations between Pakistan and Belarus have progressed rapidly over the last two years and will grow further with time,” the Belarus minister added. He said the two countries have immense potential for economic and commercial relations and the current trade volume could be substantially enhanced.
