I'm sure it's even more than 90%. Also I think what Fawad Chaudhary might be talking about is just assembly of solar panels which is nothing more than wiring two dozen or more solar cells together on a metal frame and have a small control box for over-current protection etc.

Manufacturing the solar cells is the real deal and that starts by extraction of silicon. Don't think we have any capability to do that.

'Manufacturing' of solar panels is just glorified assembling.

Pakistan has excess amount of raw material used in the solar cells which is sold to China and they process and refine it and then sold on at a higher cost.

Where is this rapid action taking place?

As far as I am aware, Pakistan only assembles and imports a paltry amount of vehicles each year compared to the size of it's population and GDP on top of that, the country suffers from regular power cuts.

It is moving in the right direction. Eventually Chinese EV will be around in the next few years .

Assembly of solar panel is already being done in Pakistan from very small to corporate levels. So i hope its not just assembly.

This is all assembly. Manufacturing panel from raw form is a really high tech process. And real. Challenge is the cost. Chinese beats everyone around the world on cost

Silicon is used make most solar cells. Raw material comes from the correct types of sands. Its abundant all over the world. Its very energy intensive to make solar cells. This is important tech to be doing R&D in.

I am not an expert at all and only have general knwledge level info. The recent phenominal decrease in prices of solar panel was possible due to use of this plastic material in replacement of silicon product.

I dont have any technical details tough. Also Pakistan as off today do not have this technology but if fawwad is saying that we will have this capability in 1 and a half year it means someone is investing in this project in Pakistan otherwise assembly is already being done locally.

that was a loaded question.

Phenomenal decrease had to do with volume of panels coming out of china. Low hanging fruit in US is already picked. now they are moving to rest of the world. there are no large scale commercial outside of Silicon.
