Pakistan has built up such a arsenal of anti ship weapons that anything that comes in range would be sailing with a death wish

And you dont try your luck hoping your ships defences would be able to keep out the numerous incoming missiles because your defences have to work everytime whilst the missile has to work once

For this reason alone, india will keep its distance

Once our full quota of subs get here our SLCMs will cover the entire western indian coast

Its a childs play for us to have complete blockade of any Indian cargo going in and out of the gulf.

The aims of these exercises were to demonstrate the buildup of the Indian Navy’s strength to the Pakistan Navy and to display its assets and readiness for all-out conflict. Between 21 and 29 June 1999 the Indian Navy deployed missile ships and corvettes in a forward posture. Expecting economic blockade, the Pakistan Navy escorted national oil tankers and commenced surveillance sorties along the coast.
