The Bridge which fell few years ago Mr and also others they are getting in really bad shape and not much time left this so called record time thing its the biggest joke no building of quality can be build in such record time which he claimed all the time that was clear something is fishy and if you bring neutral engineers and architects they will tell you how disasters have been made on these constructions

Yarr its not Mustafas fault, the Infrastructure needs maintenance and regular checks, who has done maintenance in the past five years?? PPP has done NOTHING literally but corruption and mischief!

People are forgetting Fukushima disaster, if something like that happens in Karachi.....

Fukushima was an old generation NPP. This would be a Gen3 or Gen3+ design with much better safeguards against meltdown.

Great step by PM Nawaz Sharif, Hope PM Nawaz will start more Mega Projects like this!!!

One mega project is the restoration of dignity of our country, our people and its borders.

If this mega project is completed, will be thankful to Sharif and his cabal forever. Seems highly unlikely as Sharif looks very scared ever since he came back from USA.

This will take a very long time to be completed.

If possible get a person like Mustafa Kamal to speed things up. This is a matter of survival, not politics. An energy independent Karachi would mean a change in fortune for the city and Pakistan.

2018 is the operational timeline for first reactor. KENUUP will be retired at the completion of this and work on second reactor will start.

KENUUP is fairly far from Karachi. Actually Karachi has grown unplanned over the years. But still KENNUP is still at quite some distance from main city.

if some body lives in gulistan e jauhar, he can recall how frequently the main roads of johar used to break down and it was miserable to drive on these roads, who were littered with pot holes and gutter water after every few feet, they used to make new roads but they brke down in few days

now since the new reconstruction in MK's era, the roads are in excellent condition after even five years

In Fukushima, they setup a 20km contamination zone.... tht would include karachi aswell
and im sure alot ppl remember that Karachi has experienced alot of tremors lately.
The point im trying to make is KARACHI is too valuable for pak economy to allow it to suffer from radiation and nuclear plants are a risk especially in a earthquake prone area.
They shd relocate or better yet instead of spending $10billion on nuclear, choose solar, Ive read Jacobabad is a solar energy gold mine, Sindh needs the investment and employment
