But doesn't the concept of Ummah include political integration based on Islam being a complete code of life covering all aspects? Believing in Ummah on a religious level would include the political level too by definition, unless you wish to explain the distinction as you see it.

On a personal level he seems like a good guy but you seriously think that we can create a Muslim soviet union lead by Pakistan simply because we have a big bad Army and a crap load of nukes?

Every such structure started off with giving people a better economic system, strong economy creates unity, then those structures also created a cultural product which everyone could relate to i.e nationalism, patriotism etc.

In either case hurting religious ideas and beliefs should be avoided at all costs. But no one is more iconoclastic than us Muslims. We should learn to tolerate and let others live as they wish to live.

That is our foreign policy. But I don't agree. Stronger Pakistan means more trouble for India. Stable and friendly Pakistan is fiction. Pakistan is not going to change its mindset. It will not easily give back our occupied territories and will not stop sending terrorists and narcotics and fake currency to India. I don't mind broken up Pakistan if that serves Indian security interests. But India should not get directly involved in sectarian fighting in Pakistan. Because that is also not good for national security. It can spill over into India.

Constitution provides the nation which way it will move. Even Mr Modi will find it hard to get rid of India's secular constitution. We took a u turn in 50s when we become a ''Islamic'' state. It took Pakistanis ages for a new constitution. The current constitution is perhaps the worst in the world.

Not hard - Practically Impossible.

The Indian Constitution has something called 'Basic Structure' which can never be amended regardless of the majority in Parliament. Modi could get every single Parliamentarian to vote on changing the Constitution and yet it will not happen. The Judiciary is provided full Rights by the Constitution to strike down any Law or Amendment that is against the 'Spirit' of the Constitution and comes under 'Basic Structure'. The SC has multiple times done this in the past.

Secularism comes under it as has been cleared by Supreme Court. Cant be changed now.
