PM’s assistant on accountability says Dar will come back soon

The Pakistan government has signed an MoU with the British government to bring former finance minister Ishaq Dar back to Pakistan, Special Assistant to the PM on Accountability Shehzad Akbar said on Tuesday.

“An MoU has been signed to bring Ishaq Dar back,” Akbar told reporters in Islamabad.

His [Ishaq Dar’s] extradition note has yet to be signed, he said. “He will then be presented before a magistrate there,” he said.

Special Adviser to the PM for Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ishaq Awan, who also spoke with the reporters, said Dar will come back soon.

“We will make you meet him,” she told them.

Dar, a close aide of Nawaz Sharif, is absconding in a corruption case. The accountability court is hearing it.

In its reference, the NAB had alleged that his assets were “disproportionate to his known sources of income for which he could not reasonably account for”. Dar had said that the assets beyond income case against him is fraudulent.

He said that he was being punished for mediating between two institutions after the Dawn Leaks scandal.

“Even a blind person can see that it is not justice,” Dar had told SAMAA TV in October last year. “Everything of mine is documented,” he had said.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar on Tuesday claimed that British authorities have agreed to extradite former finance minister Ishaq Dar to Pakistan under a memorandum of understanding.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Akbar said that an agreement in this regard has been reached, but extradition documents for Dar have yet to be signed.

He said that following the ratification of the document, Dar will be repatriated to Pakistan after being produced before a magistrate.

Akbar said that the entire process will be completed soon.

On June 14, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had said that the process for extradition of former finance minister Ishaq Dar, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz would be initiated soon.

The former information minister had said that negotiations had been made with the home department of the UK in the past two weeks for extradition of Dar and the two sons of Nawaz Sharif. He had added that there was a positive response from the UK government in this regard.

Dar was declared an absconder by the Supreme Court in 2017, when he failed to appear before it since he was in London, allegedly undergoing medical treatment. His absence was first attributed to ill health on Oct 30, 2017.

Subsequently, local authorities had approached the UK Home Office. Later, British authorities had sent some questions regarding Dar's return to the country, and these questions had been forwarded to NAB.

The incumbent government, in Oct 2018, had expedited efforts to bring Dar back.

'Assets beyond known income'
On July 28, 2018, a five-member Supreme Court bench had ordered NAB to file three references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and one against Dar, on petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Imran Khan, Jamaat-i-Islami’s Sirajul Haq and Awami Muslim League’s Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.

In its reference against the finance minister, NAB had alleged that “the accused has acquired assets and pecuniary interests/resources in his own name and/or in the name of his dependents of an approximate amount of Rs831.678 million (approx)”.

The reference alleged that the assets were “disproportionate to his known sources of income for which he could not reasonably account for”.

I think anyone wanting to be a minister should be required to sell any foreign properties before they are allowed to become a minister.

They should also be generally banned from going abroad after their tenure has ended and they need to specially seek permission to travel abroad and state their intention.

Might sound too controlling but it should tie these people to Pakistan and make corruption less likely to occur as they can't simply move to house in xyz western city.

Masha’Allah all my duaa are being accepted by Allah.

and insha’Allah others duaa ive made will be accepted too by our Creator.
And especially the following ones:

Ya Allah, Pakistan’s insiders and outsiders enemies are planing against our country, but they don’t know you are the best planer. Make their plan fail.

Ya Allah you are who give us protection. Give protection to our honest leaders. Give them the strength to make us stronger and successful in this world and in the ahera.

Ya Allah you give hydayat to whom you want. Give my brothers and sisters hydayat in Pakistan. Then we will always choose honest and sincere leaders.

Mubarak ho!

But first we need funds in case his heart condition deteriorates as soon as he breathes Pakistani air!

I believe we should use our VIP cells as hotel rooms and charge them for using it! THAT would be ONLY way to deter them from visiting so often like it is second home (eg. Zardari)....coz it is free, they visit so often and shamelessly too...If it was charged - yes their money is their oxygen...they would stay away!

Masha’Allah all my duaa are being accepted by Allah.
Alhamdulillah...I did a special one for these leaches during Umrah!
