Sir remittances are sent in dollars and they have grown from $19b in 2018 to $23b in 2020. Please educate yourself first before talking on economic matters.

What are the reasons for increase in remittances when the oil rich countries income has decreased and with it the diaspora pay checks. Seems many Pakistanis returning home from middle east are coming home with all their saved income.

The other reason could be there is an increase in many lacs of Pakistanis moving to Arab countries. Like if say 50,000 Pakistanis are deported from Saudia, 4 lacs Pakistanis have moved to Saudia in recent years, and to other countries as well.

That’s not an answer to the point raised - remittances are recorded in dollars, so rupee appreciation or depreciation has no impact on the value of remittances received when calculated in dollars.

The numbers should be taken from state bank of pakistan and not from a common youtuber whom we don't trust his claims. Anyway if the numbers are true, we know that most of the remittances are from middle east countries and i believe that majority of the overseas Pakistanis have send their families back from middle east to Pakistan and because of that their earning money are mostly remitted and spend in pakistan which is one of the reason.

Well, after a gap of almost two years--when my Western Union account got hacked--I have given up on Pakistani Banking systems to send money from America and recently used RemitLy.com to send to Pakistan. Good rates and efficient service. Not sure how it helps Pakistan's Foreign Exchange situation but at least its not Hundi/Hawala illegal system.

Showing your jahalat. Government of Pakistan cannot print dollars. They need dollars for essential imports and repaying loans. The only way they can earn dollars is through remittances and exports. Please get some education before commenting.

the only jaahil here is you. remittances arent increasing because of govt policies, the govt has got nothing with the increase in remittances, it is just that people abroad have been forced to send more money to their family members because this govt has proved to be incompetent and has caused prices of nearly everything to shoot up, hence more expenses, which is causing people to send more so that their family members can survive in this pathetic situation. if you cannot comprehend this simple thing, then that is not my fault.

Ok so for a second if I believe your theory that people are sending more now because family is in distress then why did the remittances increase by $2b in FY19 to $21b after stagnating at $19b in FY16, FY17 and FY18.
