This is a massive boost, imagine the increase in employment as it is a labour heavy industry. Furthermore a great deal of expansion is happening in textile industry at the moment.

The revenue for textile industry has grown massively aswell with rupee now based on market price. A stagnant industry is revived as is evident from figures there was negligible increase in textile exports from 2013-18. (This is despite the fact that electricity and gas prices were not increased during that peeiod and were left for this governemnt to take the hit).

Here is a rumor, you don't have to believe it.

Textile industry has imported $3 billion worth of new machinery to be installed during fiscal year 2020-21. When this machinery is operational, APTMA is hoping the total textile exports for the fiscal year of 2021-22 would be $19 billion.

Pak can easily triple this figure….

The total textile/garments trade is $1T…

Should have already been close to it by now, had it not been for the self-acclaimed genius Gen. Musharraf. The decades of power shortages forced the small-medium setups to shutdown and most of the foreign brands to move base to Bangladesh, etc.

We all should shout loud abuse to the governments of PMLN and PPP.

They have given IPPP contracts to their pals on a very lucrative ROI. Paid most from the government, plus loans, only fraction of the investment done by IPPPs.

The result is perpetual circular debt, which eats up most of the budget, increases debt burdens on Pakistanis, makes Electricity prices un-affordable to the masses.

It makes Pakistan uncompetitive in the world market and impact on its ability to export.

Musharaf is to blame for export fall during pmln era?

With pakistani currency at historic low, increase in export is double good news. Pakistan will likely undercut Indian and Bangladeshi production costs and still make profits. Although at the same time pakistan still imports a lot of engineering goods ,that probably will offset any or all of the gain in GDP terms

Did you read the entire post? Or got triggered half way through it?
Dude, blame goes more to ppp for objecting Kalabagh dam since 90s. If we had KBD in 2000s, power outage situation would had never arisen. Problem with ppl here is, that they forget abject performance of pmln and ppp of 90s. For them, everything started after 2008.

Thanks to ALLAH ( GOD ) for guidance and help .

I think you are too young to put that in perspective,

Power outages were common in 2000s, 1990s, 1980s and before.
The problem was aggravated in 1990s, when Zardari skewed the power mix, with expensive furnace oil being added for little benefit.
The import contracts were distributed to PPP front men.

While at the same time, it was the same political parties who couldn't agree to build a single hydro-electrical project.

you must avoid talking nonsense . On one hand you talk about decades and then blame Gen Musharraf .Everybody know PPP's role in it .

You can't blame everything on PMLN/PPP and go back to sleep. Kalabagh was not, is not, and will never be the end all, be all. Neither did Musharraf build it when he had all the power to. Used it for his own political gimmicks at the end though, didn't he? It still does not exist, btw, but we have power.

The shortages did not happen over night, Musharraf just did not have the priority or sense to care for them. "I admit it was our mistake" - Musharraf.

Can you list the projects and work done to mitigate the ever increasing shortfall during Musharraf's time? Could you also please provide the years when Lahore and Karachi saw +12hrs of load-shedding every day, including winters? Or when we saw a mass exodus and shutdowns of industries and businesses due to lack of electricity? Could you please let Musharraf know that it was not his fault? He keeps admitting that it was.

Like I said, you can't scapegoat the usual suspects and pretend everything is ok.

Thanks for that compelling argument. Carry on.

Did you read the entire post? Can't help you if you can't help yourself.
Pakistan exports reached their record lows 7 years AFTER Musharaf left
Can you really blame Musharaf for what happened in the mid 2010,s ? PMLN had a golden opportunity in the form of low oil prices but they blew it up on subsidizing imports and consumption over boosting exports
Its intellectual dishonesty to blame Musharaf for something that happened in the mid 2010,s

Petroleum products still make up a bulk of our import bill

People forget the incompetence of people that ruled over us between 2007 and 2018
