Pakistan Overtakes India in Apparel Exports to the US

. . . .
USA has many ways to help out Pakistan, this is just one of them. How many towels does the Iron Brother buy from Pakistan?

KARACHI: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood has said that Pakistan’s exports to China have increased by 31 per cent over the past nine months.

In a series of tweets on Sunday, Mr Dawood shared details of the achievement.

“The Second Phase of Pakistan-China FTA (FTA-II) became operational on 1st January 2020. MOC is glad to share that during Jul-Apr 2021 our exports to China have increased by 31% to USD 1.951 Billion from USD 1.491 Billion in corresponding period last year.

This is simply a trade where bengaldesh was given more acess due to it being a poor country
Iron brother it self is exporting why would it buy towels

This like saying pakistan is helping USA because we sre buying computer chips

And yet USA remains Pakistan's biggest customer. What is low is not to recognize that fact, but I expect you to be so.

So does China give easy access to its market to Pakistani textiles, or is it as "dirty" as USA, or even more so? What you are saying appears to be quite hypocritical, unless I am misunderstanding what you are saying here.

we have FTA-II which now includes a thousand products to be allowed to export to China. it is upon us how to be competitive in the market.
major problem for Pakistan is we are not cost effective, one example is electricity, we have higher rates than any other country in the region manufacturing value added goods.

That is a great point. Preferential access to a market can only do so much, the real test is whether the products themselves can compete with other suppliers who are vying for a share in the same markets.

Ok lets use your logic

USA is doing a favour to china by buying its textiles

Even better

China is helping the poor in USA by buying syoabean?

I mean i expected u to have some brains? But that was expecting too much

Pakistani textiles soared to USA because they are cheaper now(due to govt subidies from pakistan) and there is no other seller

LOL. Please keep in mind what Xi said to Obama as to what kept him awake at night. US purchases from China help stability, and China needs soybean anyway. It is a two way street. And Pakistani textiles compete against many other sources, including China, in US markets. Who needs brains anyway? :D

that's because of pro American political party ppp who didn't consider China as their main trade partner. Also there is significant number of Pakistanis living in US since decades hence easier for us to have contacts. With China, things have started moving in the right direction only now

Except that PPP has not been granted power this time around.

Exports to China in this financial year have risen by 30%. This is a big achievement because of multiple reasons.

1. Unlike the US, China is not a net importer. Infact they make anything and everything under the sun. So to beat Chinese in their own market is an excellent achievement. The US on the other hand is a massive importer of all kinds of goods.

2. Unlike the US, China did not have a massive outbreak of Covid and was essentially working as normal since March-April 2020 meaning their demand had not been reduced due to Covid.
