The peak is 100 km north of Gilgit.
Nanga Parbat ((26,660 ft), the Western Anchor of Himalayas from around 100 km away and 20,500 ft AMSL.

Masherbrum (K1, 25,659 ft) means "Queen of Peaks"
It is located along Baltoro Glacier, it's also the Continental Divide of South Asia. The Rivers to South flow in the Arabian Sea and Rivers to North in the Tarim Basin (China).
