Greece rejects Pakistan’s request for submarine batteries

Pakistan's navy is facing a double setback as it is currently grappling with a shortage of batteries for its submarines already in service, as well as a lack of engines for those under construction. Among the five submarines in Pakistan's possession, the batteries are crucial for powering the conventional ones when underwater. However, Pakistan's request to Greece for batteries has been denied, likely in response to India's request to Greece to stop exporting defense materials to Pakistan last year. Greece has a policy that requires permission from its foreign ministry for the export of weaponry, and in this case, the highest level denied Pakistan's request due to close ties with India, India's importance globally, and Pakistan's close relationship with Turkey, a rival of Greece. This setback will impact Pakistan's naval defense capabilities, causing significant concerns for the country's military leadership.

Batch-II contains 2x OPVs, after completion of Batch-II, Pakistan Navy will operate 4x Damen/Yarmook Class Corvettes.

As per Pakistan Navy these ships will be multipurpose as well as highly adaptive platforms, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons & sensors to fight all domains of maritime warfare.

OPV Batch I along with Zulfiqar class frigates should now be refitted with credible SAMs. Further in future plans PN should consider 1-2 type 52 DE destroyers with LRSAM which so far are lacking in PN fleet. We may further get credible platforms to arm with our indigenous BMs with rnages 1000KM+ and Babur-III with range of 1000KM to hit enemy targets far away. Considering IN trying to establish it's stations in Africa and Seychelles the limited destroyer inductions quite fit in our future naval doctrine.

Not possible. OPV Batch 1 has no space for VLS. Zukfiqar class also has no space below deck for VLS. For both these classes the most likely option is RAM/HQ10.

Quoting for you

Mid-life Upgrade of F-22P Frigates: Zulfiquar class frigates (F-22P) being the workhorse of the Pakistan navy are repaired routinely by KS&EW to keep them in top condition and to carry out operational duties. Currently, one of the ships from the class is being upgraded at KS&EW. A major upgrade in its air defense systems is expected, according to current CNS Admiral Amjad khan Niazi interview with a Turkish news agency the Pakistan navy is procuring Albatross-NG air defense system from MBDA for its F-22P. Along with a new air defense system, new electronic support measures (ESM) and a new Radio intelligence station from ASELSAN Turkiye will be integrated into F-22P.

Further as far as Btach I opv the Russian style weapons station i.e KASHTAN like solution a mix of Missile/Gun combo is possible from China.

For Batch 1,i think best HQ-10 is not likely possible d/t china/nato issues. RAM is not likely possible d/t Pakistan/US issues. Honestly best senario for these IF you really need PDMS is wait for Turkish Levent PDMS. That said, these ships were a big mistake for PN. They shouldn't have gotten them as for Corvette role as the layout isnt really suitable for self protection a 21 cell Levent could change that and make the true servicable Corvettes.

As for F-22P... That isn't entirely true. Remember that platform that currently holds FM-90 itself is something like 5-6 feet above the deck. So removing that and adding a a riased VLS like that on SA'AR 5, Type 23 frigates and Yarmook Batch 2 would be entirely possible. The question really was what systems to use. If PN has elected to go with a complete deep dive overhaul and replace chinese sensors with turkish systems and sensors, then Albatross becomes reasonable. It will be very expensive however. That said, the alternative here as you said is a 21 cell FL-3000N like the standard 054 upgrade.

.
As per a feasibility study, installation of GWS-26 VLS is possible.

Albatross-NG for Zulfiquar class in future with other important upgrades IA.

Yarmook class will not carry any missile based air defense system. Their employment does not necessitate need of dedicated air defense system.
