Pakistan name T20, Test squads for England tour

Pakistan on Sunday announced two different squads for the Twenty20 matches and Tests on their tour of England.

Pakistan will play two Twenty20 internationals against Australia on July 5 and 6 before playing two Tests against the same opponents.

After playing Australia, Pakistan will feature in four Tests, two Twenty20 and five one-day games against England. The tour ends on September 22.

The squad for the one-dayers against England will be announced later.

The notable inclusion in the test side is that of Yasir Hameed brought in to replace former captain Younis Khan.

The 32-year-old Hameed has played 23 tests, but his last came against India in Dec. 2007.

The selectors opted against bringing the experienced Younis back into the squad for the twin test series, even though the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier this month lifted his indefinite ban.

why yunis khan is being kept off while malik is being included in every side.

yunus khan should be the captain or atleast vise captain, theres an acute problem of leadership and afridi is a lil immature to be a leader now.

btw where is sohail tanveer, why is he being not included, is he injured for a long time or so??

and one more thing is, PVB always inducts new players in a new series, they should play the players who can perform and remain in the team, players ka debut karake un ko PCB farigh kerdeti hai, wtfh????

T20 and tests ke lie separate teams???

yeah, there should be separate teams for t20 and test.. However i really think that PCB should introduce Muhammad Irfan immediately to give him some exposure and experience in international cricket which will eventually help him preparing for coming world cup next year..

Also world cup is very near, and falking PCB is still doing experiments over and over again..

Asim Kamal

A left-hander of more obduracy than flair, Asim Kamal is the sort of batsman who can bind the middle order together, allowing others to bat around him. He is typically minimalist, particularly well equipped with a fluid cover-drive, but his meat and drink are nudged singles and patient spells of batting. After five seasons of domestic cricket, Kamal finally made his Test debut against South Africa, at the relatively ripe age of 27. Like so many others of late, Kamal was impressive in his first match, missing out on a hundred by just one run. Coming back into side for the Tests against India, Kamal continued to impress. In a series where most of Pakistan's batsmen gained notoriety for throwing their wickets away, Kamal showed rare discipline and composure, batting well with the tail to score two half-centuries. He further consolidated his reputation as a gritty customer during Pakistan's 2005 tour of India, scoring 91 in the first innings of the first Test. His safe catching at gully came in handy on several occasions on the same tour. However, his consistency slipped in the following months and he spent a three-year exile from the squad. He was the subject of contentious debate among several selection committees and captains before finally earning a recall during the home series against Sri Lanka in 2009.

Asim kamal is out of form for a long time and is not doing much in the domestic circle. Imran farhat is a surprise. Good to see yasir hameed though.

I was waiting for this guy to represent Pakistan... He is one super wicket keeper although their are few issues with his batting. These can be overcomed.

Good T20 team but there is no place for Fawad & Wahab. Mohammad Irfan shld get a chance.

well if this the team for test than result is going to be 0 again i dont know what the hell pcb and ejaz butt is upto tset is not for those who dont have any proper defence 98 percent of the team which selested dont have any good technique to play in england even no one avrages in 50 in test what the hell is this yasir hameed, imran farhat dont have technique to play international cricket how many times they have given chances they every time failed us so keep them out for ever these players are waste to be played if they play both than pakistan will be playing with 9 players i know what they do even before the game younis, and asim should have given the priorties im sick of these stupidity of the pcb and what the **** the *** hole zardari is doing im sure he is going to loose the election whatever votes would he had got with these stupid chairman he is going to loose with 0 votes from all over the pakistan
