What's new

Pakistan is rapidly becoming green :NASA

But how can Pakistan be green if Indians keep bombing our trees :(:(:(:(:(:(

They bomb 10 of our trees? We plant 100 more and take out 1000 of theirs. Simple.

That has been the response so far, and it will continue to be.

Let us finish our 10 billion Tree project ,,,,,,, Even if we manage to grow 3 billion more that will make Pakistan More Green...…………..
And on our coastline We have millions of meters (200+km) area for Mangroves ……….. …….. They will help us too . Mangroves will stop sea incursion...……..

In what regions are they mainly planting trees? I note Karachi and south of Sindh is a bit barren, they could easily plant palms and dates there also many other drought resistant vegetation.

AH good to see Pakistan physically matching the colour of it's flag Pakistan is the meeting point of the world's 3 greatest mountain ranges and has most number of glaciers of any country outside the polar regions and the least densely country on the sub-continent there is plenty of space and potential to plant more greenery and increase arable land.

The latest satellite images released from the National Aeronautics And Space Administration (NASA) have shown that Pakistan is among the world’s fastest greening countries due to reforestation efforts.
Pakistan’s arable land has been growing in double digits over the last few decades. A significant change was seen in the previous four to five years. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) report, the country’s arable land grew by 600,000 hectares between 2014 and 2016.

In two years, it increased from 36,252,000 hectares to 36,844,000 hectares.
Due credit must be given to the Billion Tree Tsunami initiative started by the Prime Minister Imran Khan in Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) ruled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in 2014-15.
On the other hand, Pakistan has also experienced deforestation during this period. The area under forests has shrunk from 1,515,000 hectares in 2014 to 1.429,000 hectares in 2016.
