Article says the range is 125km, which is not that much. I thought fd2000 had a range of 200+ km and is better than S300 and that it intercepts incoming BMs too.

we did not copy it, it took Iran 10 years to develop this system from 2009 to 2019, when we got S300 PMU2 by then Bavar-373 was almost done we made our way up from Hawk system so if we going to say Iran systems are copy then the missiles have US base not Russian, Iran makes a lot of air defense systems and all kind of radars we invest a lot of money and more than 20 years in building infrastructure necessary to get to this level but the more important news is Iran said they already built a more powerful system then this one that is in the level of S400.

A system with a range of 200km would be good enough for our defense needs as Pakistan does not have much depth, secondly our main rival is next door.

Greater range means lesser probability to hit. so far no perfect SAM system exists e.g. F35 vs S400. FD2000 has no 125km range that is baseless radars work together to achieve an effective longer ranges. Pakistan can later buy different types of missiles launched by fd2000 with different ranges. I am thankful that launcher is here, with requirements changing longer missiles will come anyway.
