so according to Sabir Shakir Pakistan has found enough Oil and Gas reserves to meet our energy demands for next 200 years...
personally im split on this, as a Pakistani i want to believe him, but reality is always harsh.

misreporting he and other reporters are referring shale oil reserves which are known from years and now Government is in process of making policy (or might have already made) for exploration of these reserve so nothing is going to change in immediate even in middle term in future

The problem is not that we don’t have oil and gas reserves. It’s just that it takes A LOT of money and resources to explore and extract. Not to mention many hits and misses....

Pakistan with the lack of infrastructure necessary for exploration and extraction will end up paying more unless the reserve hit is massive and economically feasible .

Pakistan doesn't need new resources to get rich, we already have enough. We are not even capable of handling existing resources. Our National priorities have always been short term.

Failed to explore Oil near Iranian border -- Costs around 15 Billions on import bill every year
Failed to build Kalabagh Dam -- Had it been done in Musharaf Times our economy would have been way better
Failed to develop Gawadar -- Had we built it in 1970s this could have been HongKong of South Asia by now
Failed to develop Thar coal -- Waste of time and effort
Failed to develop Reckodick -- Forget developing it, we successfully managed to get penalised for it

That is the prevalent mood at this forum from the past few years. No matter what you say as advice, opinion or statement, majority of people here just jump to conclusions in their own heads and start writing without thinking. Especially if you criticise or say anything against this government.

I feel it’s that brainwashed Jiyala mindset that’s driving these people. So in their view their leader is all knowing and perfect. They don’t want to listen, read, understand so they just ignore everything and troll. Even abuse.

Gone are they days when people used to actually analyse, speculate and share ideas here in peace. Not to mention respected each other’s opinions
