Need I point out that foot soldiers are fodder, not "in charge". And since when did Saudia / Emirates / Kuwait / Qatar become more than mere vassals and turn into global powers? And if Pakistan did what Saudis want them to do, they will soon find out the very hard way that the true global powers will come in as and when they would wish to, unless they are properly "blessed".

It is called window of opportunity---. When the major power is busy thinking something else---and another astute resource or ally enters the arena with mutual consent and then builds up on it---.

I think you should appreciate the diversity of views Pakistanis have here. Both pro and against KSA, both pro and against Iran. And some times even both and pro against Israel! This constant tug of wars is not 'self hatred'. At least Pakistan is not blundering blindly into the ME conflicts. Heck, Pakistan has yet to overtly launch strikes inside Afghanistan.

You may get your wish in the end. Pakistan has a good chance of getting involved deeper and deeper than it is now in the Yemen issue with its relationship with the House of Saud being a prime cause.
