Iranians antagonized Pakistan needlessly, and allowed India into Pakistan’s Western border. These tensions won’t die down until Chahbahar is dealt with. Both new Afghan government and Pakistan will start pressuring Iran heavily on it.

You said the PRC took a backseat I disagree we used a Chinese joint productions JF17 jet you have to understand China since Deng Xiaoping has taken neutral stance on all international policies since 1978 when they open their economy Deng was famous to say "PRC must bide for time" too much assertiveness would spook the west and they did just that the west is spooked so China is starting to get more assertive in recent years and if the US uses BD/India I expect the PRC to deepen the relations with Pakistan Iran will come back to us but we must have a open stance and try to resolve the conflict in Afg the more the Yankee stays more Iran gets closer to India time for Islamabad to kick Yankee our of Afg KSA and Gulfies we must milk them what they got

What kind of relation is this which goes off the track every month. I say let them go just keep our side of border secure let them have what they are destined to have.

We need to make it in their interests to support Pakistan's development, and not undermine it. Pakistan for its part, should keep the border secure and keep out of conflicts where the Iranians will be forced to act against Pakistan. Pakistan did this in a major way by staying out of the Yemen conflict. There was a lot Pakistan could have gained by going along with Saudia and UAE, so Iran needs to know Pakistan has tried to be a neutral if not a relatively friendly neighbor.

Recent pushes by China to expand trade ties with the EU, especially Italy, means Iran can place itself in a position to ship raw materials and finished good to and from the EU and Asia. With so many finished good transiting their country they can get paid in barter trade. A percentage of what is transported can easily be paid as in days of Caravans of old.

They may not want to be friends with Pakistan but economics and the prospects of Chinese trade should make the mullahs pragmatic if they want to survive. Their people will not tolerate the regime if the economy keeps declining when it doesn't have to.

To be clear, Pakistan is in no ways Allies with Iran. The Pakistani State is currently focusing its energy on stability and economic development. Iran can join in the development or be left out. Pakistan wont lose sleep over it. Pakistan is planning on fencing the border. It doesn't want any distractions from Iran. So Iran can get on board or stay on their side of the fence and watch this opportunity pass them by.
