Pakistan envoy summoned over insulting remarks on Bangabandhu

Although I appreciate Pakistan & Bangladesh coming into being, the main politicians were the only people who could make it happen due to influence and power status. Pakistan itself is a good idea, same with Bangladesh but the people behind it were by no means perfect representations or examples of these entities.

That's my opinion, I believe the quarrel over all this is because of confusion and both sides being mistaken on their own selves.

Banning this website is a major level of petty.

Banning the site is no issue at all. Every government has right to ban information which it think is harmful to his population by any means.

Raising the issue with High Commissioner was wrong and pathetic, beacuse they should have known that this site is privately owned (Although it has full and all kind of support of establishment). But legally it is a private site and that too is registered in USA if I have correct information.

Anybody please correct me if I am wrong.

I suspect its because the discussion here (by BD people themselves) on how fake/rigged the recent elections were.

My discussions (with proof) on fake/low credible Bangladeshi economic statistics can't have helped either

I also believe so. It's not about love for SMR as Pakistani insulting him actually work in favor of Hate-Pakistan politics of Aunty Hassina. Actual reason is her government's credibility and statistics being challenged, which if not contained can burst the bubble. But anyway, Aunty Hassina can ask publicity charges from @WebMaster as it's first time in History of PDF that Pakistan's commissioner being summoned because of it. Webby should further encash the opportunity by telling Anti-Establishment media groups in Pakistan that Bangladesh have banned ISI/Army run website, same can be done to get coverage in Indian media.

Section 21 of the Digital Security Act says anyone spreading or instigating negative propaganda against the Liberation War or the Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman using digital devices will risk being sentenced to up to 14 years in jail or a fine of up to 10 million Bangladeshi taka (roughly $120,000) or both.

Negative remarks regarding the father of our nation is not and will not be tolerated in our country. U can do whatever u wish in ur own land but if u have access to our place we expect u to obey our own rules. If u fail to do that u will get kicked out.

Not really sure what's the fuss is all about. The banned website spreaded constant propaganda against our freedom fighters as well as their leader who also happens to be the father of our nation aka shaikh Mujibur Rahman.

If this website was based in it BD, govt would taken legal action. Since its not GOVT has banned it as per law. Dont know why everyone is crying here. We will decide which sites will be allowed to get access in our country and which will not.

Ahh I get the feeling a couple of Indians will come in the gold list as well..

A better question is if PDF is so horrendous and so abusive towards the "freedom fighters" and "founding father" then why are Bangladeshis coming here using proxies.. Shouldnt all bangladeshis respect their own laws and their own fathers and leave this toxic and evil forum.

By the way @Nilgiri got it right. Its not about freedom fighters or founding fathers. They are just a convenient excuse as always as everywhere. This is entirely based on her sham election and her autocratic rule..... anyhow no skin of our bones.. PDF got more publicity and maybe all of us should pitch in to write a book which will really piss of a 2000 km away country and it can have all our opinions in it and analysis..
