What natural resources Pakistan has in order to expand as a powerful economy.

If we look at countries such as Russia, Qatar, UAE, Iran etc they are blessed with natural resources like Oil and Gas. These natural blessings help their economy. Dubai has oil, Gas, world class sea port and tourism. USA and Europe invented technology, industries.

What is our Pakistan blessed with and what can we work on to make Pakistan a powerful economy.

I would start with 3:
Agriculture = Our oil and Gas.
Declare agriculture emergency and start with heavy investment in:
Rice, Wheat, Mangos, Oranges, chickpeas.

Gwadar/Cpec = Our oil and Gas
Already work is being done. Great future potential

Seafood exports = Our oil and gas. We have massive sea area so needs to be used

1. Modern Water management and irrigation methods; water is the most precious resource
2. produce the highest profit crops for export, we need to earn cash, and can buy cheaper crops for food
3. We need to invest in our people so they know how to use the tools and resources efficiency; such as drones (smart farming) to know where to spray pesticides and fertilizers, etc.

Expanding the amount of Arable land with more canals and water pipelines; and finding ways to replenish our aquifers when it floods. Pakistan only has 11.3% of the Arable land of India and is about the same size of the economy as India. While coloration is not causation, more Arable land and better farming techniques coupled with water management and farming high profit cash crops will make the Pakistan agriculture industry many folds more profitable and increase the GDP per capita of the average farmer many fold. The Pakistan Flood Control System has a plan that would increase our arable land to 17.7% that of India, and then modern agriculture can do the rest.

We can even expand into the desert by planting trees that will cool the environment and recover the soil in due time. Trees like the Australian eucalyptus grandis have been studied in this regard.

Another huge part is local management of finances in a transparent manner, with oversight by technical advisers and a sign off of federal officials. Chinese experts and managers can help teach our teams and our own experts can keep our own people in line. If need the Military can keep an eye on any potential corruption because we are literally in a race agaisnt time to straight up and fly right otherwise we all crash.

What if India stops all water flow to Pakistan. Would we survive through building 1000s of small and medium dams all over Pakistan to save rainwater.

In Kashmir we build our own small private rainwater dams which feed 10 family cattle during the summer hot weather.

Would you say it would be possible to transfer ocean water from Karachi to all over Pakistan, using huge water tanks, huge water pipes etc. If we can transfer oil/gas then am sure water can be transferred.

In Saudi Arabia they use constant water tankers to transfer water from Makkah to Madinah.

. .
A nation that cannot build dams because of commie marxist wankers who stop dams being built need to be axed. they would have been sent to siberian gulag in the soviet union if they opposed dams which are needed.

Pakistan has, sky's the limit in potential but as you can see with the current gov. the PM is working day night and his team and the bureaucratic shambles is grinding the nation to halt.

This system needs to go and a new progressive system not in the sense of western progressiveness but industrial progressiveness.

There are also legitimate issues raised by the Sindhis. We can start by building the dams in the south so we can restore confidence in the government. Store all the water allocated to the people in the south, and work northwards.
If we build the Bhit Resovoir, we can hold enough water from floods and store enough to supply Karachi and Lower Sindh. It can also generate a lot of electricity.

Once that dam is build people will be assured their water supply is stable and they can sign onto more dams in the north. The following plan was actually presented to WAPDA in 2010-2011 but not approved during the PPP government.

Details starting on page 61. more detail starting on page 98.

Punjab is the bread basket of Pakistan:

Pakistan is blessed with vast land, natural gas reserves, petroleum, extensive coal, iron ore, copper, salt, limestone and gold besides other natural resources, many of them hitherto undiscovered. In fact, according to one survey, Pakistan has the second largest salt mine, second largest coal reservoirs, fifth largest gold mines, seventh largest copper mines, the country is the 11th largest wheat producer, 12th largest rice producer and seventh country of the world with nuclear power.

Two of Pakistan’s major natural resources are at Reko Diq and Thar. Reko Diq is a giant copper and gold project in Chagai district, Balochistan, in a desert area 70 kilometres northwest of Naukundi. Reko Diq is close to Pakistan’s border with Iran and Afghanistan.

According to experts, Reko Diq has proven gold and copper reserves worth US$260 billion and estimated gold and copper reserves worth US$3 trillion. Mineweb.com has stated that Reqo Diq “is believed to be one of the world’s largest reserves of gold and copper.... Reko Diq is believed to contain 12.3 million tonnes of copper and 20.9 million ounces of gold in inferred and indicated resources. Some surveys have suggested that Reko Diq may contain as much as 11 billion pounds of copper and nine million ounces of gold.”

Meanwhile, some experts believe that Reqo Diq also contains rare earth elements. These elements, which are even more precious and in much greater and growing demand than gold, are used in latest high-tech equipment and batteries for all electric cars, etc. It is China that controls 95% of the world’s supply of rare elements.

Thar coal is also a major blessing for the country. According to experts, there is 175 billion tonnes of coal available in Thar, which is equal to 618 billion barrels of crude oil. These experts say Thar coal deposits extend across the border and are currently being mined for power generation in Rajistan state in India. While they were discovered in 1991, for some time, the deposits were ignored as they had low calorific value. On the other hand, Thar Coal is environmentally friendly with a low Sulfur content. Things have now changed. The four ongoing projects of coal-fired power plants in Tharparkar would produce 2,300 megawatts over a period of four to five years. Four companies are executing the coal projects with a total cost of $4.7 billion.

Many of the natural resources of Pakistan have not been discovered due to various limitations. Some figures reveal that natural resources exploration is probably only 20-30 percent of actual deposit estimates. There is a need to develop a sound strategy to explore and utilize the resources. What we have should be used with great care.

sindh hasnt built any dams and it got told to build a dam, so much of sindh delta has been destroyed by this mofo cancer ppp. in sindh its not just building dams it the shrinking mangroves as we that prevent sea water going up the delta.

Sure. Just tilt the earth so Indus River starts flowing in reverse. Problem sorted. Water might be tad salty but who cares, right?

Ha [emoji57] Good idea
But I meant as in use large electric motor to transfer the water through pipes, water will be salty but it can be used for fields and cattle in sindh.

In Kashmir near Mirpur. We have our own small dams which cater for 10odd houses, also have Wells and one of the way we get water to the houses on top of the hills is by using electric motor to pump the water through pipes. The small dams water is used for cattle and fields and well water for drinking.

If Pakistan has proven Gas and Petroleum reserves then I am sure previous governments would have utilised them and made billions in profits. We even have been ruled by military governments and still nothing has been done. Plus why would China import oil/gas from Middle East whilst their neighbour and strategic partner Pakistan has the reserves. It doesn't make any sense except we don't have much reserves

I read many times that if Pakistan takes gas or oil from balochistan then Iran would go dry or Pakistan has world largest hidden reserves, these all seem hearsays, but reality is if they had some then China the super power would definitely invest and save billions as we are neighbours. Importing oil/gas from Sudan/Nigeria more feasible or from Pakistan?

PTI Supporters in Sindh and especially Karachi need to agitate the ruling PPP to build the Bhit Dam. All people paying the water mafia need to be informed of this possibility and the PPP didn't move forward on this dam when they were in government. All those people who don't have clean fresh water need to know about this. wasting water we already have and build desalination plants when would could have spend that money on a dam that would have solved the problem once and for all was not built.

This is a issue every one in lower Sindh and Karachi can support. This should be PTI main message to the PPP in Sindh. "If you care about the people, build the Bhit Dam."

be honest, do you really think ppp cancer is going to build a dam? them with their fellow red party in KP have destroyed Pakistan water storage and dam building. they need to be destroyed before dams are built.

I purposed a similar idea a few years ago where each province/state gets a dam built for them so everyone gets their fair share. It will solve two problems with 1 stone. Dams will be built as well as flood water could be utilised.
