Pakistan doctors live in fear after spike in deadly attacks

A few incidents? Over 9,000 physicians have left to such "few" incidents. Potent motivator, this sense of responsibility for keeping one's own self and family safe.

So how many have been killed in Lahore just this year?

If you'd payed more attention in general, and particularly in this thread, you'd know why I typed what I did. I'm not very good at explaining my stand to the dense.

Nobody blamed India. And you pathetically trolled to get some attention. Everyone can see that.

.
People might not know here but just yesterday 8 criminals and terrorists have been killed by rangers and police in various incident in Karachi. Then there are many others who were arrested by the forces. So focus is there. And things are improving.

Dying for attention by Pakistanis?? :D

As I said before. A few incidents. Not a trend. Like Karachi and Quetta.
Yet someone will try to present the situation as if some kind of massacre of Doctors is taking place in Pakistan (actually this is his ill wish; dil ki baat hey jo zubaan par aa jaati hey). If I am not mistaking, Doctors are also human beings, belong to the society, and prone to accidental or natural death just like the humans who earn their living through other professions.

As far as Doctors leaving Pakistan is concerned, it is not just the Doctors, even a cobbler wants to leave too thanks to pathetic economic situation. People are not primarily leaving because of fear of life but because of poor and slow economy and this is happening in all the 3rd world countries not just 'Islamic' Pakistan. You watch, soon this thing will hold Islam responsible for the killing of Doctors too, as usual.

Exactly. At least here in Karachi, along with Doctors businessmen were threatened and even killed due to refusing to pay extortion. But the thing is that state has started to give attention to these issues. The criminals are killed and arrested regularly and situation surely has improved at least here in Karachi. Now people feel more secure in 2015 as compared to what they used to feel in 2013. So hopefully situation would improve further in future too.

Same condition in India too.
how many got shot??
not same,,,,here in India its mostly coz of angry attendents,,,,but in Pakistan its mostly coz of Hindu Bharati + modi conspiracy n just maybe some sectarian issue, but tht is negligible.

Go get justice for that journalist who was burnt alive a few days ago by some corrupt minister in UP instead of ranting on a thread related to Pakistan where state already is working to improve the situation.

I didn't blame India anywhere.

Anyways you got attention from me. Now shoo.
Well, while in Bangladesh, their Moozi PM has admitted his terrorist role in 1971 war and several ministers have admitted their support for terrorism. We don't have to blame them, they have already admitted they are sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan.

. . .
I don't think this is purely about terrorism. A doctor friend told me that although they are highly respected in Pakistan, patients families can get very threatening /violent when things go wrong.
You are not aware of vulture -like attitude of certain Doctors. Still, I do not think they are killed for their unprofessionalism. Hundreds of patients have died during 'strikes' by 'young doctors'; can you believe it? Doctors on strike, OPD locked up, leaving helpless patients to die.

Same condition in India too.

Come to think of it, same in BD too!

To be honest, I've found that when the same doctors arrive in other countries, they often lack empathy and have too much pride. A symptom of the cruel world they from i think.

So my previous reply to you mysteriously disappeared. Nice!

So if I understand correctly, because it is not just doctors being killed or intimidated, but all professions, it is unfair to point out such killings.

Right, got it. Makes sense.
