Understood. Thanks for the explanation.
Wonder why India is lagging behind here then? This should be a fucking no brainer!
It is true thag Islam allows polygyny ,but that is hardly practised,no one is going to have two problems if he can't even deal one, most of males after work have hard time dealing matters of single familyI’ve heard that the Islamic marriage law allows one to practice polygamy..
So would it be possible for say a man born in a Sikh community to register his marriage under the Islamic law to take advantage of the polygamy loophole?
Islam is the only major religion which tells you that you should only have one wife, multiple wives are allowed only under very strict conditions.I’ve heard that the Islamic marriage law allows one to practice polygamy..

So general question and the machinations of my evil mind at work here but...
(Also pardon that I’m not well versed in marriage laws)

Asking for a friend lol
Excellent Step
Yes Upto 4 Is Allowed Under Islamic Law But Your Presumptions Is Something Far Down The Road
I mean definitely far fetched an idea, but that’s why I’m curious if it’s possible.
But just want to understand how the govt. regulates people from misusing the law. Like what if a Sikh wants to register his marriage under Islamic marriage law. Will he have to prove his religion?
Muslim Family Law Ordinance only covers Muslims... so it doesnt apply to Sikhs,Hindus etc.So general question and the machinations of my evil mind at work here but...
