NEW DELHI (Web Desk) - Pakistan has barred low-level over-flying by Indian commercial airliners over almost its entire airspace, the Indian media reported on Sunday.
A note to airmen (NOTAM) issued by Pakistani aviation authorities informed that all flights have been prohibited from flying below 29,000 feet in Lahore during the month of October.
Pakistan had earlier barred overflying below 33,000 feet in the Karachi airspace.
After this move, Indian flights will have to opt for longer and safer routes which can delay flights.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the only airline that operates between India and Pakistan, but Indian flights to the Gulf, Far East, Middle East and Europe often fly over the neighbouring country.
