Because in the past 45 years that isn’t the only source of our income. We diversified and that is a drop in our economyI can list tons of things which happened in those 24 years, but let's not dearail this thread further.
P.S:-Bengalis were always weeping for them being looted of their jute by evil West Pakistan but i hardly see contribution of jute in your 16% growth and i hope this growth rate makes family members of those killed by BSF happy
So get man,it was drop even in 1960's and it was only viable thing produced in East Pakistan.Because in the past 45 years that isn’t the only source of our income. We diversified and that is a drop in our economy
So get man,it was drop even in 1960's and it was only viable thing produced in East Pakistan.
Yeah suddenly jute went out of favour.Jute was very valuable up into the mid-1960s.
Tea was also a major export earner.
It was a major source of income for the collective Pakistan back then as we were the largest producer of jute, the largest jutemill was made by Ayoub khan if I’m correctSo get man,it was drop even in 1960's and it was only viable thing produced in East Pakistan.
And there are reasons behind that. Pretty sure learnt about it in school, garments will go out of favor also soonYeah suddenly jute went out of favour.
Jute lost its market in the mid-'70s when plastic bags started to replace jute bags. Even in Bangladesh, there are more plastic bags than jute bags. How do you want the jute to glitter any more?P.S:-Bengalis were always weeping for them being looted of their jute by evil West Pakistan but i hardly see contribution of jute in your 16% growth and i hope this growth rate makes family members of those killed by BSF happy.

Relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh can improve if Pakistan apologies for the 1971 atrocities at demanded by Imran Khan https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/imran-demands-apology-from-pakistan-to-bangladesh.99857/
Honestly, our Pakistani Pm can **** off if he continues talking about apology from us. These traitors caused us a huge defeat with India. I don’t care one bit about losing East Pak land mass
Imran Khan knows an apology would go a long way to healing the divisions caused by 1971. He is right to be thinking about it.
It was a major source of income for the collective Pakistan back then as we were the largest producer of jute, the largest jutemill was made by Ayoub khan if I’m correct
It went out of favour due to the widespread adoption of plastics in the mid-1960s.
BD lost those 15 years 1950-1965 where it could have used it's jute and tea exports to a lesser extent to kick start massive unitary state industrialisation like the E Asian economies did.
Fun fact: BD per capita this year is predicted to grow 7% and 0% for Pakistan. Join the dots and see what BD would be now without being held back for 24 years by Pakistan.

But, now, at least, we are happy to see our foreign money that we are by exporting textiles is no more looted by others. Jute was big seed money for west Pakistan's fast development and now it is textile money causing fast development of BD.
So, you can see our textile is glittering and not jute.
Make up mind, when did jute fell out of favour plz.It was a major source of income for the collective Pakistan back then as we were the largest producer of jute, the largest jutemill was made by Ayoub khan if I’m correct

Doing it again for you folks.
Jute makes still upto 2.6 billion USD in globel bag industries.
WoT in Pakistan coupled with electric crisis was blessing for East Bengal on top of that dirt cheap labour.
