I hope our impulsive FM has not uttered Brother-Sister relationship while in talks with Pakistani Envoy.

Sister Hasina can count on Pakistan anytime she likes, wants or desires.

The Indian armed forces of 2020 are not the same as they were in 65.
And you think Pakistans military capabilities are the same?

Anyhow, I'm not going to argue with you over this.
You the one who brought Pakistans military capabilities into the debate which has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Sanghi run India is a threat to the region's stability.

Only country with an expansionist foreign policy in the region is sanghi run India.
We can agree on this one which is why it makes sense for BD and Pakistan to come closer even if we dont have a shared border. There is much we can cooperate in including defense.

Waste of time- there is nothing in common with these 2 countries, and the split of 71 is still not forgotten by Bangladeshis. I have come across people as young as 25 who are having this bad hatred towards Pakistan, so its clear what they are being told and informed. I also know for fact that no one in Pakistan gives a 2 cent crap about relationship with Bangladesh it is all Foreign Office who wants to justify having a relations , then I guess that's what Diplomats do !!

Pakistan and Bangladesh should strenghten their relationship by all means. 1971 was terrible and I hope that on one beautiful day we can be a united country again.

Bengalis are one of the nicest people I have ever met in Germany. We are friends with a Bengali family and their just like us. They love to speak Urdu and don't care about dividing politics and just do their stuff. My UK based cousin even married a Bengali woman. If people say the Ummah is dead, they are unfortunately right. But this thinking: Afghans bad, Bengalis bad, Arabs bad and only the country of my birth is great is not helping either to revive it. If you want a different outcome change your mind and stop the hate! All the Bengalis I met had no sympathy towards Hindus or Indians!

The thing with us Bangladeshis is that, we don't badmouth India as often as Pakistanis do.

Pakistanis have issues with India namely because of the Kashmir debacle, the wars, the covert infiltration dramas, acts of Terrorism allegedly instigated by R&AW and simply because both nations came into being during a violent period, where there was only one rule kill or be killed.

Compared to that, Bangladesh's grievances with India are mostly related to their blatant disregard for rules set by WTO when trading with us and secondly the border killings issue.

Sure, they may undermine us on the media all day long but we simply don't pay much heed to those bobbleheads on sanghi media.

However, things have gotten a bit more serious between the two countries now with the CAA NRC fiasco and the constant anti Bangladeshi rhetoric coming from the sanghis in New Delhi.

Going by the listed factors above and many other I don't have time to get into, it becomes clear that Pakistanis have more reason to be belligerent towards India than Bangladesh.

What this translates into is what we see on PDF, Pakistanis bashing India all day (not saying that's good or bad; your forum you do whatever you feel like).

Now when it comes to Bangladeshi users on here and Bangladeshis in general, we don't antagonise India as much for obvious reasons (our issues with them are different from yours).

What this does is when the average Pakistani reads a Bangladeshis comment which is neither praising nor insulting India, they assume that we are on India's side but this isn't necessary true.

We also don't mock them over 'cow mutra' and 'spaceships' in 'Mahabharata' and all those tidbits, simply because we have a large Hindu population in Bangladesh and most of us have grown up knowing that Hindus have certain beliefs and we respect that because they're our countrymen.

So I implore the sensible Pakistanis on here, don't jump to conclusions about an entire country or ethnicity without sifting through the details, not bashing India incessantly doesn't necessarily mean we agree with India on everything.

Forget the Bangladeshi government, the Bangladeshi people don't pick favourites between India and Pakistan, make of that what you will.

We the people of Bangladesh will support or back whoever and do whatever needs doing to improve Bangladesh's prospects.

We despise extremist Sanghis as much as the next person.

I would like to add, we get along just fine with Pakistanis and also with Indians. If you treat us with respect then, you will find in us some of the most friendlist people in the world.

We are generally docile and not needlessly aggressive towards others, this is evidenced by the fact many Pakistanis on here have had pleasant real life encounters and relations with Bangladeshis.

The Hypocrisy laden statement in Red above is the highlight.....If that would have been the case (of sharing common bonds of history, religion and culture)...why Urdu was imposed over Bengali language, Why **** leaders said Your there, We Here?....Why Bengali culture was never endorsed by Tall, Fair Punjabi Leaders of the past......There was nothing common between East and West Pakistan's culture/language other than religion.
However, it is time that we discard the feeling of dissimilarities and vie for similarities. West Pakistan leaders were run by their local Lords/Vaderre people who disliked east Pakistan had thrown away their own local Lords in about 1950s (can't remenber the exact year) by passing laws in the east Pakistan Assembly.

Many things followed this pattern. It is time we find out similarities between the people of former two wings of Pakistan.

Bear in mind we don't have any Muslim neighbours to help us, if India decides to invade us, civilians will have nowhere to seek refuge.
Plrease understand one thing, India has no reason to annex BD, a poor country infested with ignorant Muslim Mullah. Will it not get more more Muslims among them? Do you guys think India will get more benefits by doing so?

India is happy at the present status quo that BD political leadership kowtow Delhi.

Try being neighbours with an increasingly aggressive sanghi run India while having no nukes. An India which would've pinned Pakistan to the wall decades ago, had Pakistan not developed nuclear weapons.

Good luck!

You can't imagine what our government is going through.

The issue is more delicate than you can imagine while sitting in Pakistan.
Which is even nore reason to reach out and mend ties rather than Hasinas antagonistic approach and pakistanis uncompronising attitude. Let Bygones be bygones. Most of the people from 50 years have gone to the graves, lets not let the next generation undergo the same acrimony.

If not friendly relations then certainly business relations for mutual benefit should be advocated

You are implying PA troops won 1965. It was not that. rather, it had to stop the war because of shortage of ammunition. This is why Ayub Khan had to rush to Tashkent. India could not capture Lahore that was the only solace, but the war itself was initiated by President Ayub Khan to get more popularity that he lost afterwards by the betrayal of Bhutto and Mujib.

Bilkul janaab.

Salam aur Pyar.

Bhayya Niazi

Aapko Tehjeeb aur Tamaddun ka nazeer se mere aakhon se aansu beh rahe hai. Jeete Rahen Bhaisaab!

OK enough Urdu - I think I effed up enough already. This is how far my Urdu goes. But better than a lot of Pakistani brothers' Bengali I guess. :-)

Well lets hope with trade that gap reduces as well.

Language is a necessity. As old as Bengali is, it is a treasure trove for humans for religio politico social progression.

I guess big brother "Xi Jinping" of both Bangladesh and Pakistan urged both sides to settle the dispute as China needs BD-Pak relations more than ever.
