No. Actually we have set a new no nonsense policy.

Simply put it goes like this -
Previously, after a border violation, Indian forces would inform the Government and wait for further instructions. Now the forces have been given a free hand, with reasonable limits.

Pakistan is testing the new policy, how serious India is for example. Once the lessons are learnt on both sides, the clashes will die down. They are going down in fact.

In fact war hysteria is totally absent - so much so that the people are mostly unaware of it. Things like Hudhud, Mangalyaan, Haider, Kashmir floods, Diwali are on people's minds. Not a conflict with Pakistan.

Indian media is not a very reliable source - this is accepted by Indians themselves ...most of our news channels are called 'paid media' openly. So their power to manipulate Indians is lower than what is deduced.

Except for the PDF crowd and some wannabe analysts, defence enthusiasts, there is no interest, let alone desire for war at all.

There is no way that the Pakistani Army, now that they are stretched so thin on so many fronts, is going to choose this time to "test' the new policy. Common sense indicates that this escalation was due to people on the Indian side.

As long as the firing stays heavy ACROSS THE LOC----it is not a problem. It is your expenses that are going up and your ammo that is going to be in shortage----and your heavy equipment that would be in need of service.

You are right. LoC is a better bet. But best is to ensure that even that stops. That the terrorist infrastructure around P.O.K is destroyed and the Pakistani forces understand that it is not okay to shoot at kaafirs. That the Pakistani Army understands that a civilian death in India will lead to several forces and civilian deaths in Pakistan.

Indian response has been clearly formulated. Indians will respond to any escalation from the Pakistani side, albeit, manifold and execute punishment. (Don't trust what the rangers are telling you about EID bout of fireworks. Read the tea leaves. When was the last time that Pakistani diplomats were running around like headless chickens or State and Non State actors were articulating in the same language. Radiness is not. Pakistan is in the top 5 most heavily armed civilian populations/capita. Arm bearing Pakistani citizens outnumber Germany's total population. Arms owned by civilians are worth in a Billion dollar figure and we mainly use a single cartridge for our assault rifles.

In 65 we had sticks and stones, now every Pakistani home atleast owns one fire arm. If India carries out another adventure, its Army will be culled like mosquitos by simple demographic firepower difference. India will have to fight all of us, not just our Army.

You do realize that the Geneva Convention rules permit any army when faced with hostility by civilians during warfare to treat those civilians as armed opponents and to attack them accordingly ? Your post displays the height of a reckless attitude by a civilian whose nation is facing hostilities for whatever reason from a neighbor. Also, in my view, it is an insult to your armed forces and an unnecessary insult if stats are to believed when it comes to the Pakistani armed forces

Buddy, Pakistan would be the last country on earth to want war, Pak army is already engaged on western front in a full scale conflict with 150,000 troops, why on earth would we do it. It bcuz of the recent elections in India, that Modi wants to gain the sympathy of right wing vote bank to whom he had promised, that once in power he would be staring at china and pakistan...you know the reality dude..don't close your eyes !!!
