Muhammad Hafeez? He's weak vs pace (Steyn) and he can't bowl per icc. Should've used fawad instead.

His official bowling test is due at the end of this month, if he clears the test, he'll be allowed the bowl in WC. So basically PCB gambled on him. If he can't get cleared for bowling, he'll be pretty much useless for the team due to his issues with pace, swing and bounce, which he'll definitely face on Aussy pitches.

where is Umal Gul ?

As you say, he's not fine with pace or bounce. So why we need him then. We already got afridi and another spinner. The pitches are for pace.

This was a really stupid gamble. This guy is opener and if steyn or someone like him usually get him out in first 5 overs, it'd add big pressure and slow run rate. Not to mention he has already failed his unofficial test. Plus even if he passes, his bowling won't be as good as previously.

Should've gone with fawad alam. Have sarfaraz and shehzad open. YounIs third then mibah and then fawad, Umar, afridi etc. (I think I'm confusing the alternative opener)

I always liked Hafeez as a utility cricketer but felt he should have been down the order batting at no6

if he cant bowl then he should have been left in Pakistan

Younis has never been a great ODI player and has done nothing of note to warrant inclusion


Our control bowlers were Saeed, Hafeez and Afridi and without them we have a massive hole in the middle of our innings and we are expecting
Harris and maybe shahzad to bowl 10 overs

They said they'll include so hail tanveer So he didn't attend the Australia big bash with offer of 70lakh rupees. Now they say to him he isn't going. Same happened to him previous cup. Don't know if he's good or bad, but that's just sad.

And to be honest, I have really no hope of pakistan winning this World Cup. We already lacking a world class team. It's a shame afridi is retiring as he did lead us to semi last World Cup and I hoped he continue to lead. He may not be good batsman but he's good captain, unlike misbah.

Younis was just lucky versus Australia like everyone else. I hope his experience is useful there.

But again, I feel like pull my hair. Why the hell do we select a super weak batsman, especially him being an opener! We will never go beyond 50 runs without being one wicket down and 15-20 overs gone.
