The Mig-29's range on internal fuel is greater. The F-16's ferry range is greater. The F-16 has greater TWR and the Mig-29K's G limit is lesser due to the folding wings. Naturally, the payload capacity is also lower.

The Mig-29's BVR weapons are of many types and one can say is superior, but the WVR weapon is inferior, which will be rectified soon anyway. PGM and standoff capabilities are similar.

The Mig-29's engine and service life are significantly lower and maintenance costs are way higher. But the Mig-29 is more resilient to damage due to having two engines and is obviously more versatile since it's a carrier aircraft.

Actually both are very good planes but Mig 29 has an advantage of timely upgrade of best systems across the Globe. It has got a lots of new stuff in UPG program including a new state of art EW. F 16 with Pakistan has not got such upgrades and that makes the difference.

Even if f16 is a decent jet Pakistan doesn't have it in numbers...

76 aircraft is no laughing matter, especially when they will be accompanied by over 100 JF-17's (with more to come).

The point is to have the ability to make the IAF bleed extensively so that it cannot afford to attack Pakistan. And this has already been accomplished.

Why would the Mig-29 EW suite be more advanced than F-16 Block 50

The Mig-29K's new EW suite is built around AESA.

The Indian version was designed with Israeli assistance and even they said it's more advanced than what's on their jets, which includes more advanced versions of the F-16 than the B50/52.

It's the latest in EW technology. The F-16V will be needed to match or exceed it.
