Pakistan Aeronautical Complex to joint-manufacture 48 Wing Loong II UCAV

. . .
Cant these drones become excellent gunship killers as well?
A High Explosive A2A missile and boom. Gunships don't usually carry A2A ordinance. Except a few of them.

.

even the FB account which initiated this rumour is not official account
The Facebook account which really initiated this news is also a member here and also a friend who is more reliable than any one. Most pictures which are revealed here of from inside KAMRA are his work. The news is right @LKJ86

It's not Tipu7 Janab. Even Tipu took it from our mutual friend. And the account you are mentioning also took it from same place. Let me be clear it was my group on facebook where this news was shared. Where our innocent friend failed to mention that please don't share this news outside. Some of our boys including Tipu7 thought it could be shared and therefore news came out of the group it was not supposed to. We never thought entire world media would pick up the news. Even group members are feeling scared now

Similar thing happened on one of my Groups on WattsApp.
A member who PAF is pilot posted a pic of Chinese JH-7?? (Dont remember exactly) taking part in drills with PAF. That news was not to be shared with anyone as Chinese didn't want their Electronic warfare jet to be seen in Pakistan.
He didn't ask us not to share the pic,We did not know that and posted the pic on our FB pages.
Later he was mad at us and we had to remove the pics , but it was already out in the wild.

Nope The S400 mostly uses missiles from the older S300 family of SAMs like the 48N6 that can be quadstacked on the TELs, which gives each launcher 4 missiles on alert and each battery 32 missiles. If they use the longer range 40N6 which is unique to the S400 each TEL can only carry 2, limiting each battery to 16 so 48 UAV have to face either 80 to 150 missile.

considering Indian capabilities; judging form self inflicted wounds be it the destruction of subs and ships or Migs; 48 drones will do the trick with a slight +ve margin

That friend also got once almost beaten up a relative who is pilot as he ended up sharing some sensitive news. But now a days he shares mostly news which PAF senior leadership wants to be out but doesn't want it to happen officially. This is one was 2nd mistake he has made. I hope he doesn't faces bad things due to it

This news is wrong and debunked by respectable sources:

Is Pakistan Buying Wing Loong II UAVs from China?
There are reports of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) co-producing 48 Wing Loong II unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in collaboration with Chengdu Aircraft Industries Group (CAIG).

The news originally came from a Facebook Page purporting to be an official account of the Sherdils, which are the PAF’s aerial display team.[1] However, Quwa was unable to verify the authenticity of the account or whether it was associated with the PAF. In fact, the account does not even list the official PAF website (or that of the PAF Media Directorate); rather, it directs to a news website called “PAF Falcons.”

In effect, this news – despite being widely picked-up – cannot be verified. In fact, each and every source that reported this news had pointed to this specific Facebook Page, which is not even linked to the PAF.

Besides this, there have been no official statements by the PAF, PAC or Ministry of Defence Production or any quotes attributed to Pakistani officials. Thus, the news is, until proven otherwise, a rumour.

That said, Pakistan had been test-flying a Wing Loong UAV as recently as November 2017. Considering the PAF’s longstanding relationship with CAIG (via the JF-17), seeing the PAF procure the Wing Loong II is also plausible. However, the PAF has its own medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV program running through Project Azm. The Project Azm UAV is reportedly due to materialize in some form in 2019.

One might draw a link between Project Azm and the Wing Loong II, but this too is uncertain.

Firstly, PAC’s mock-ups show a MALE UAV design that, while broadly similar to other MALE UAV designs (i.e. inspiration from the Predator), has several design differences from the Wing Loong II. These include an engine intake underneath the fuselage (as opposed to the Wing Loong II, which has it above).

Secondly, in May PAC signed a memorandum-of-understanding (MoU) with the Turkish electronics vendor Havelsan to co-develop various subsystems for UAVs. These systems include mission computers, ground control stations, sensor integration and weapon control computers. Considering the scope, it is likely that the MoU is geared towards a major UAV program, i.e. Project Azm…

The news is authentic as hell. No official source would admit until first one joins the fleet. It was not supposed to come out in first place Janab. It was shared out side accidentally

Well, that's a shame. And adds no credibility at all.
