  • clash between two tribes over a land dispute in northern Pakistan during the last 36 hours, local media said Saturday.

The clash was reported in the remote Dattakhel town of North Waziristan tribal region. Heavy arms, including rocket launchers were used in the fight, Pakistan’s Geo television reported.

Eight people were killed Friday, while 22 lost their lives in clashes Saturday, Geo said.

The clash was ongoing as Pakistan army remains engaged in a separate full-scale operation against Taliban militants in several parts of North Waziristan, one of the seven semiautonomous tribal regions in Pakistan, since June last.

So another failure of tribal system? Rocket launchers used, what is this, command and conquer generals:rofl:

I thought land disputes are settled in the court room?

I am well accustomed to data tribal customs so believe me when I say this is very very normal. In fact it stopped during Taliban control because tribes were busy getting killed by ttp. So this fight is a sign of return to normalcy.

That said, usually when such fights happened in past, FC would jump in within 12 hours as a neutral force and fighting would stop. It gave a face saving excuse to both sides to stop fighting, but with army and fc busy fighting, this clash will go on longer with more casualties.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

50% of them aren't even Pakistanis, they are migrated Afghans. Deport entire FATA to Afghanistan and make it into 1 big nature park resort. Problem solved.

Disturbing but good news.
