pakdef and pakistanidefence A salute to warriors past and lost

What was H Khan main issue? I know he was a strong member did have an ego.

Not just H Khan, but the likes of Munir, they were very arrogant egos. Munir in particular, he would pretend to be a serving PAF personnel, he evenly gate crashed a PAF event in Turkey before he was rumbled. He also behaved quite inappropriately on other forums which I won't get into.

I was Ghias on pakistanidefenceforum and Abdullah S. on Pakdef. Have very fond memories of the time I spent on both of those forums. I was in matric at the time and used to spend nights reading all kind of stuff about tanks, submarines, strategic affairs etc. I honestly think those discussions and reading made a better person in a sense that I learnt how to articulate, create and present an argument to stubborn people .

I remember Pschosaint and Diazasta so well. Both had it in them to completely deep fry Indians to the core. Especially Dizasta's blitz left Indians shell shocked every time:p:. We also had a guy umarleeds who always posted news with links and never an opinion even after about 5-6 thousand posts. :p:

Those were the days. :-)

UmarLeeds once spoke up that he used every search engine he could find to post news related to Pakistan. He was relentless.

I remember Dizasta.

I always though Abu Zulfiqar on this forum was the Dizasta of PDF. Both had penchant for Motorbikes, Both were pashtun.

I joined PDF in 2005-2006 when I was in highschool. @Penguiin and @Bilal Khan (Quwa) a.k.a Mark Sien used to have interesting naval discussions, drawing up different scenarios and what not.

Slowly and steadily, activity on PDF declined. Psychosaint got cynical and weary about people of Pakistan. Asim Aquil used to be part of PDF. He Rebelled and made this forum.

It's been 15 years now. Time passes quickly, all of us kids are in late20's and early to late 30's now.

I always wondered what happened to the old Pakistani Defence Forum, It was good fun free for all trolling...I remember Dizasta by the way lol

I first came across the term 'Bhangee' there haha

The cool thing about the original PDF was that it was basically a forum full of kids, and run by kids. I don't think anyone was older than 24-25 in 2002-2003, but the majority were definitely 13-19. It was also mostly expatriate kids in the Gulf, UK, US and Canada as well, and lots of military brats. So, beyond having a common interest, we all had a lot of commonalities. The friendships there ran a little deeper.

I was one of them xD and meet usman shabbir during IDEA 2004 in karachi expo.

I definitely remember Dizasta and that he was a proud pukhtoon and very aggressively Pakistani lol. For some reason I thought Platinum786 became Oscar but I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I also thought there was someone like TheDeterrent on the other forum but forgot their name. I'm not that old but my memory feels old lol.

I saved a lot of the useful threads on Pakdef. Have them somewhere on a USB stick.

I also have World Airpower journals and AFM from 90's with PAF reviews/articles on bases (Masroor, Risalpur, Kamra-PAC), interviews, new jet inductions (Mirages and F7PGs), Kargil crisis and tons more.

Being kid collecting books/magazines was such fun 8-)

Dizasta might be @Nasr

But we're definitely missing usmanali, vikasrehman, platinum786, hellraiser006 and psychosaint. The beauty here is that all those 'kids' from those days know a lot more now, so the discussions would be amazing (or we'll all devolve into fun banter, dad jokes, etc).

Need to make a collective database I know @Bilal Khan (Quwa) is busy but I see no better and capable individual than him to organize it and make it accessible.

Hellraiser rings a bell — do you have any contact or able to reach out to them?

I don't have anything on Hellraiser (or vikas, usmanali, etc). I may have Psychosaint's email in one of my old email accounts, but he may not be using it. I thought I had him on FB, will need to check. But tbh, if vikasrehman is still into Pakistani defence topics, then he'll know about this forum.
