In 13th ceasefire violation in the past 11 days, Pakistani troops opened another front along the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir and targeted a mosque and residential houses in night-long firing.

Pakistani troops started indiscriminate and unprovoked firing in Mangalnarh forward belt of Rajouri's Manjakote sub-sector during midnight on Wednesday, a senior police officer said here.

The firing continued till 0400 hours on Thursday and several bullets hit a mosque and two houses triggering panic among the people living along the LoC, the officer said.

The mosque and two houses belonging to Mohammad Iqbal and Mohammad Akram, both residents of Mangalnarh, were damaged during election.

But there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing, the police officer said.

Indian troops took positions and responded with equal caliber weapons to Pakistan's firing which resulted in intermittent exchange of fire.

There has been 13 ceasefire violations along the Indo-Pak border during past 11 days, and 15 ceasefire violations in the month of August.

On August 20, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire and resorted to firing at Indian forward posts along the LoC in Hamirpur sub-sector of Poonch district, prompting Indian forces to retaliate.

On August 19, Pakistani troops opened unprovoked firing from small arms and automatic weapons at forward posts in Hamirpur sub-sector in Poonch.

On the intervening night of August 17 and 18, Pakistani troops intensified its offensive and resorted to night-long heavy mortar shelling and firing of automatic weapons targeting 20 border out-posts (BoPs) and civilians areas along the international border in Arnia and RS Pura sub-sectors of Jammu district, in which one villager was injured.

Security officials feel the heavy firing and shelling in areas along the LoC and international border in Poonch and Jammu sectors is aimed at facilitating infiltration bids of armed militants into Jammu and Kashmir.

In July, eight cases of ceasefire violation by Pakistan were reported. In June, Pakistan violated the ceasefire five times along the LoC and IB in Jammu region. There were 19 incidents of ceasefire violation along the LoC in April-May.

Is this confirmed or just another Indian Bollywood story!

Confirmed by which. By those who refuse to take their own soldiers dead body and saying that they foreign terrorists.

Lol as usual, no sources except some Indian govt mouthpieces... Sometimes I wonder why I even try....

Usually when someone asks for other sources, they don't mean exact copies.

Is this confirmed or just another Indian Bollywood story!
you expect pakistani source... ?
your lollywood story of Indian side only doing indiscriminate firing and pakistanis being honorable only retaliate is laughable.

Is it so hard to expect a source from Pakistan, until then it is only a one side report.

Like they say, "A picture is worth a thousand words." :smart:

That picture is blurry and could have been taken anywhere. So, those thousands of words could be lies or truth. The source is still a copy.

Like the other side is going to report it to their public what they are doing on the border. Show me one pakistani source which says that they have violated ceasefire to give cover to terrorists.
That's not a blurry pic, the focus is on the pieces of the shell and not on the man. Dont be so skeptical, it's not like both the sides dont restore to occasional shellings.
Like when four days back when 2 pak rangers were injuried, this news was not reported on the indian side or when on 15th three IA jawans were injuried did this news got broadcasted in pakistan. So, stop asking for a pakistani source.
If you still have doubts about this, then just move on.

For a Good Night's Rest, They Huddle In Bunkers: Life At the LoC

Just after dinner, people of village Trewa in Jammu and Kashmir slink into a narrow bunker with their families.

Men, women and children, all squeeze into a space meant for a little more than a dozen people. Moments later, the shelling and firing begins.

Only a few can spread out on the ground to sleep; the rest sit or stand. They take turns on watch duty.

The spurt in firing from Pakistan has taken these villagers back in time, back to the nineties when attacks from across the border were a daily feature.

In the past 12 days, there have been 14 incidents - 70 since the Narendra Modi government took charge in May.

Villagers near the border have been driven to abandoned bunkers which haven't been used for nearly 10 years.

The hideouts are being cleaned up for fresh use. There are dozens of them, hidden behind bushes and mounds, their entrance just wide enough to let in one person at a time.

Hundreds of people migrated from their villages close to the International Border in the 1990s, during the peak of militancy in the state.

After the ceasefire of 2003 between both countries, many border residents returned home. Many of them are wondering if life will ever be normal.

"All our kids huddle together, close to the walls of the underground bunker when shelling becomes intense; we take shelter in bunkers with our children", said Joginder Paul Resident from Arnia in RS Pura sector.

Border hostilities have directly impacted the peace process. India this week suspended talks with Pakistan over its envoy's meetings with Kashmiri separatists and the spike in ceasefire violations.

There are inputs that militants are regrouping across the border to sneak into India in large numbers.

"Groups across the border are waiting for a chance but our boys are very, very alert and the border is well-guarded. We are also retaliating", said Rakesh Sharma a senior officer of the Border Security Force.
