New Delhi [India], Apr. 11 (ANI): Former Union Home Secretary and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP R.K. Singh on Tuesday, while condemning the death sentence awarded to alleged Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, said Pakistan might be fabricating the entire story of the latter's trial who actually could be dead and demanded that Islamabad should first show that Jadhav was alive.

"We still doubt whether he even faced a trial or not. I even think that without any military trial, he was awarded a death sentence and Pakistan is just making story. It can even happen that they tortured him so much that he died and now, they are fabricating a story around it. We will demand that they should show us an alive Kulbhushan Jadhav first," Singh told ANI.

He said that even the Pakistani Security Agency did not have any proof against Jadhav, so awarding him death sentence was incorrect.

Earlier in the day, slamming the Pakistan military court, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj issued a stern warning to Pakistan, saying that Islamabad should be wary of taking such an extreme step as it could result in damaging the bilateral relations between the already hostile neighbours.

"It is an indefensible verdict against an innocent Indian citizen. We have no option but to deem the sentence a premeditated murder. Our position is very clear, there is no evidence of wrongdoing by Kulbhushan Jadhav. I would caution Pakistan government to consider the consequences for our bilateral relationship if they proceed on this matter," said Swaraj in Rajya Sabha.

"Yesterday, Foreign Secretary conveyed our position to the High Commissioner of Pakistan. Let me state clearly that the Government and people of India would view very seriously the possibility that an innocent Indian citizen is facing death sentence in Pakistan without due process and in violation of basic norms of law, justice and international relations," she added.

Swaraj further said, "I would also like to tell the House that I have been in touch with the parents of Jadhav and we are extending our fullest support to them in this difficult situation. A strong sense of solidarity expressed by the House will give them more courage at this time".

Both Houses of the Parliament were stalled over the sentencing of Jadhav.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had assured Lok Sabha MPs that the Centre will do everything possible to save Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Speaking in Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh said, ''The government of India strongly condemns Pakistan's move to send Kulbhushan Jadhav to gallows on false charges of being a spy.''

Jadhav was arrested in March last year, "for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities against Pakistan," according to a statement released by the Pakistan armed forces.

The statement said Jadhav confessed that he was tasked by Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), to "plan, coordinate and organize espionage/sabotage activities aiming to destabilise and wage war against Pakistan."

A military court found Jadhav guilty on two counts of espionage and sentenced him to death.

India has strongly objected to the sentencing, saying consular officials were denied access to Jadhav during his trial.

The Ministry of External Affairs later summoned Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit and issued a demarche to Pakistan. (ANI)

German diplomat says Yadav was caught by Taliban

German diplomat and scholar Dr Gunter Mulack, while speaking at the Pakistan Institute of International Affairs on Friday on the topic of ‘Crisis in the Middle East — A German Perspective’, has reportedly said, “Be aware the Chinese will not bring you paradise on earth”. He added, “The Indian spy recently arrested in Balochistan was actually caught by the Taliban and sold to Pakistani intelligence.”

Apparently I also had that same feeling. The abduction of Pakistani officer in Nepal is a story promoted by Pakistan. Indians are clueless about it. This was step 1. It was created to make the world believe that indeed India has carried out some sort of abduction.

Kulbhusan has already been killed while being tortured. He is now in a morgue. They are waiting for the right time to declare that he was hanged. No, we will not hear from or see Kulbhusan again.

Pakistan should hang Kulbushan Yadev publicly at Wahga Border, this will tell Indians that he was alive and punished for his crimes.

Happy Now?

We are under no obligation to parade him to the media or give him consular access. When the bastard is hung and converted into ashes, the remains can be sent to PM Modi residence care of the Pakistani people.

some say taleban....indian media kept saying Jaish e Adl......the more the enemy is kept guessing and uncertain the more we are perfectly happy ;)

It's only been 2 days since the missing report went public.....I dont see how Pakistan has an incentive to lie about a retired army officer going missing in Nepal. If anything it would put huge pressure on the government to investigate and bring him home...especially with the way our media is

why would we gain from lying about something like that....I personally hope it's a lie or that if there is a retired officer missing that he is recovered.

all speculation.....as for not seeing Jadhav again, on that I'll be inclined to agree. I'm sure his remains will be sent, no reason we want him buried here!

First of all their secret court theory doesn't go well with me.
He was supposedly tried by a field gen. court martial of the army, which means he was tried by a military jury, not trained in law and which is not independent or impartial and that which works under the Pak army.
Reports tell us that he wasn't represented by a lawyer but was provided a defending officer. The location was a "secret".

To me as an Indian this makes no sense because in India, civilians(Jadhav was a civilian when he was captured) are tried in regular courts.
The guy was charged with espionage, but later tried for being a terrorist. In India, we have had instances of acquittals in espionage cases as well.

His family has been asked to prepare for the worst meaning he might already be dead. They have moved out of their luxurious apartment in Hiranandani,Mumbai. Prolly out of fear for life.

highly plausible, given that they came out to media with some kidnapping they can now justify his death. If he is not shown publicly then that might be the case.

Gosh @HRK not again. Why the negative? For voicing an opinion divergent from yours?

Not an opinion but disrespecting PA which is totally uncalled for. If you aren't aware of such system/procedure then it is appropriate not to comment with speculation.

Joe, milspec and Nair aren't authority to deal as such but quoting members in an open thread is not plausible as the matter be taken to GHQ Section to discuss accordingly.

Thanks.

@nair sorry friend but YOU of all people should not be involved in such things. You hold an important position here and are to lead by example. Post reported. Please refrain from such pointless remarks that make you and the forum look bad.

Thank you.
