Its for asylum seekers basically, includes Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists. If Muslim Pakistanis start migrating to India in big numbers, well whats the point of Pakistan then.

Perhaps some sort of back-ground check on a each person would be better than type-casting people of one religion into one category, and the rest into a different category?

.
Its just a ploy by the indians to cast a divide amongst Pakistanis, I think there are some Pakistani Christians here on the forum, and they will be best suited to give their views on this news.

Oh please, its not India is forcing minorities in Pakistan to come to India. They are just making things easier for people who do intend to take the leap.

Am sure there are many Pakistani Christians who are more than happy in Pakistan.

Still Rezavan's point holds .Religious discrimination is there here.

I'm trying to get more information on this.

Besides ,credibility of ToI can questioned , since getting Indian citizenship for even Pakistan of Afghan Sikhs or Hindus was difficult.

We can't risk it, given the security threats in India.

Its not like Muslim Pakistanis are not given Indian visa or anything. Thousands visit India every year.

Asylum visa and tourist visa are two different things.

.
Now India is giving visas based on the religion of a person. I'm sorry but that would constitute as religious discrimination.

Hmmm

But if only CERTAIN religions are discriminated in some CERTAIN country then obviously India as a secular democratic and responsible country has to grant visas on basis of RELIGION only.

I hope you can see which country I am talking about. The country where minorities were 23-24% at the time of independence is today only 2% and you talk about religious discrimination? Come on mate!

Well mate pakistan members will definitely deny this....
They will say minorities are given full rights but they wont repeal blasphemy laws, and glorify a killer who killed salman tasheer, and still minorities cant occupy a single highest position in govt(PM,President,Chief commissioner etc)....

I understand. The scenario of security in India is a lot different from what I experience here.

At the end of the day, it's up to the Indian government to decide what is best for it's country. Not for me to comment on.

Come on, if you're going to compare, compare yourself with the best :)

Yeah Pakistan rewarded Cecil Chaudhary and his community for his service, by bringing in the Blasphemy law.

I hope that law will encourage more Cecil Chaudhrys to serve Pakistan. :pakistan:

So you want to replace dead Christians of Orissa and erstwhile with alive Christians of Pakistan. Not a bad trade I think.;)

Exactly! Well on paper everyone has equal rights but in reality Hindus, Sikhs don't even have as much rights as Christians. Because we're not 'People of the book' [Abrahmic religions].

.
Good move by GoI.. they are in endangered category.

Was there any pun intended mate? :) Like??? I think India is one of the most religiously tolerant in Asia and UK in the world. :)

.
Christians are patriotic Pakistanis, but dont know about Hindus and Sikhs because I never met a Hindu/Sikh Pakistani in my life.

This can help Pakistan by sending ISI agents into India. Many patriotic Christian Pakistanis are willing to do everything for Pakistan.

No pun intended. It's just what my dad taught me :P

In Asia, when we talk about religious tolerance, Singapore and those east Asian countries are pretty tolerant. But then, they have a low population of minorities.
