Pak-Army First to Arrive in Bangladesh For Relief in 1991 Cyclone Disaster

Can you say the same for a South Korean soldier fighting against North Korea?

BTW,it only was part of our motherland, untill they betrayed us on 25th March 1971.

Until 16 December 71, there was no Bangladesh, by definition, you were a part of a sovereign country and you betrayed that country big time. No matter how much you try, there is no other way to put it.

We declared ourselves independant from Pakistan on 26th March,1971.

. . . .
not here, agartala conspiracy, language movement drama, establishing links as back as 1958 with indians and mujeeb ur rehman speaks otherwise........\

We believe, even if we were good with u, u would have never been a real Pakistan nor bothering to contribute together with us for her greatness but only would have asked and asked for more n more. So it was a lost cause anyways.

Don't get me wrong. The death figures & rape figures are all disputed in my books too & the cause is somewhat flawed, but things like the mukti bahini were for the most part an honest organisation from the ground.

And no, it is because we were unaccounted for our hard work and not forgetting the blatant inequality issue.

On what and whose authority?

The peoples authority. You say things like good riddance and East Pakistan would never have lasted long so what's the point arguing over it now. The past is the past. This forum has done a great deal in establishing the true image of 1971 Pakistani Civil War.

I am not among those who like to beat the drum foul play. I will openly admit that East pakistanis were improperly and unjustly treated once quaid e azam departed. There was too much smog around and too many self centered SOBs had taken out their personal agenda.

Yes it is all history, but a very painful one. I for one have well wishes for my former countrymen, always. But sometimes, it hurts.

.
Pakistan also rebuild Bd army after 1975. Not India- a message to ehsaan foramosh Indian loving Awami Maloon.

If Bd goes down then most likely Muslim nations will show up first to help not India.

It's a painful history for us too, because when our elders tell their war time stories many do not disrespect or bad mouth their former countrymen rather the establishment or an individual. Anyways these days Pakistan is known as a nuclear power in the eyes of Bangladeshis not this Awami puppet show that is going on at the moment.

Btw brother, have you seen how many Bangladeshis treat Pakistanis on Bengali forums? I hate those Pakistanis who badmouth our Bengali brothers but I want to say that the hate many Pakistanis express on this forum for Bangladeshis is just out of anger and not genuine hate.

On the 12th of November 1970, Cyclone Bhola, the deadliest ever recorded in world history struck Bangladesh. On the 20th of November 1970, the Singapore Government announced its offer to send a self-contained and self-supporting military medical mission to Bangladesh, which was accepted by the Pakistan government then governing Bangladesh. Coded named 'Operation Palm' was carried out by the SAF Medical Corps to provide medical relief for disaster victims in Bangladesh (then known as East Pakistan), following a cyclone attack on the area.

On the 1st of December 1970, team leader then CPT (Dr) Seet Lip Chai led a 47-man medical team on two British RAF Hercules planes to Chittagong, a major seaport and the second largest city of Bangladesh. The medical team was subsequently deployed to Sandwip Island, 35 miles west of Chittagong. Sandwip Island had borne the full brunt of Bhola's attack and was one of the worst-hit areas.

The team assisted the local health authorities in their work to prevent the outbreak of an epidemic by vaccinating and inoculating the population Medical care was also provided to the locals. In addition to the medics that were sent out, a clinic was also set up in Sandwip on the 4th of December 1970.

On the 22nd of December 1970, the medical team accomplished its mission and returned to Singapore. Over the 16-day stay on the island, the 47-man team had managed to vaccinate a total of 26,786 people, in addition to providing medical attention and distributing foodstuff donated by Singapore firms. Medical supplies were donated to the local medical authorities, while 15 tons of canned food was forwarded to local relief centres for distribution to victims of the disaster

it was most part an honest when it came to its own people....my friend, there was a reason why op. searchlight was initiated in the first place.
My focus on that post was in distribution of resources and equality issues which were the main reasons.......not towards, massacres killings, rapes etc, for me they were just used to escalate the already sense situation in the hearts and minds of common people, specially youth who were just kids no matter how intelligent or righteous they were.

Thats why i said;

We believe, even if we were good with u, u would have never been a real Pakistan nor bothering to contribute together with us for her greatness but only would have asked and asked for more n more. So it was a lost cause anyways.

Dont get us wrong, we r no innocent here, we r the murderers, rapists, looters etc etc and that is true! But still even if we were good and had been just will u, there were no guarantees, yr loyalty may have always under question, u maybe loyal towards East Pakistan, but not with west Pakistan just as we were not.

My personal view is that we shouldnt have accepted East Pakistan to be Pakistan or governed by us. U should have been a totally independent country right from 14 august 1947. That way we could have avoided all this rubbish and bad name this entire episode gave us.
