PAC/JF-17 - DxB Air Show 2019

PAF is looking into getting rights from either Saab foe Saab 340 B's or ATR 42 via Italy.

Correct me if I am wrong but ATRs don't appear to have as good a reputation as SAAB/Swedish items have in the case of Pakistan. Mushaq (Saab Safari) and Saab-2000 have all been well received. Pakistan's first preference might possibly be Saab in this case if things go as desired. If we can get export license as well that would be better.

@JamD this was the stuff I was talking about in the $1b export thread. First, it seems the Boeing offset program is still going (would be interested to see if we crossed 25% of the upfront purchase price of the 777s yet), and I think they'll look to extend/expand it with another PIA order soon.

I can't speak for the current status but at least in 2013 there was no 25% of the upfront cost of the 777. Those two parts you see in the picture? Those were literally the only two parts PAC made for boeing. If my memory serves me right the one on the left is some part for the luggage bins and the one on the right goes somewhere in the rudder assembly of the 777. I specifically remember seeing these two parts. The titanium for them is imported, machined by PAC, and exported. Of course this is all 2013 info so I can't say anything about current status but them showing the only two parts I remember from 2013 doesn't fill me with hope.

I fear you're being too optimistic about offsets and PIA orders.

@Trailer23
If you go back to the airshow could you go to EDGE UAE pavilion? I would appereiceate it if you could take pictures of factsheets for PGMs like Desert Sting, Thunder, etc and if you could find a factsheet about an ATGM(?) that looks like this.

Two offset partners, PAC and PIA Precision Engineering. Both still manufacturing.

Designing your own aircraft and now getting build rights from SAAB/AIRBUS, futile ideas and without any real business plan.

I could be wrong here but I imagine a major reason the Navy went for ATR was that it also meant planes stationed at Merhan could benefit from PIA ATR overhaul at Karachi Airport

I counted (could be more) 2 - 3stars, and 1- 2star from PAF, is this normal for an air show? Seems overkill.
Next time around i'll try & get the pics more clear.
What are Indians displaying?
Exploded piece of AMRAAM?
You want me to take pics of their Pavilion on your behalf? Thing is i'm covered in PAF Apparel.
If you do plan to go back, could you look into to products that Pakistani allies are buying or are showing an interest, where Pakistan could focus its efforts into producing. Also, could you look into any interesting products at the other pavilions that you think PAF should consider.
Well, I skipped today & might go tomorrow. I'm pretty sure i'll be attending one more day, but not certain which day.

I took this pic below is from the 2009 DxB Air Show

Yeah sure, i'll do that. Could you tell me more about which Anti-Tank Guided Missile you want me to cover....
Interesting configuration probably for Anti-ship role.

is this SPJ pod highlighted with white circle ??
Truth be told, those Diecast Models suck!!! Big Time. I've seen Hobby Enthusiast with more detailed Models. But, i'll take a closer look.

Can't ask those guys at CATIC any questions. They barely speak English.

This picture is very interesting as the harness has fiber optic splices. This means the JF-17 has a better data bus capability being introduced for JF-17 Block-3 at par with 4.5+/5 gen aircraft.
Fiber optics greatly reduce the cabling needed and resultingly impact weight of the jet.
