They said that a recent survey conducted by Independent Monitoring Unit showed that 327 schools in Swat lacked all basic facilities. The survey shows that at least three schools in PK-80 constituency, 41 schools in PK-81 constituency, 34 schools in PK-82 constituency, 43 schools in PK-83 constituency, 91 schools in PK-84 constituency, 78 schools in PK-85 and 37 schools in PK-86 constituency lack all basic facilities.

May be its due to lack of funds...but here in india too many government schools are like this but they have a fully functioning black board....but huge corruption results in the schools not having proper facility...even though government gives them free afternoon meals with eggs (which are sold to make a quick buck)...free uniforms..slippers...books...even laptops for higher secondary students...those indians who have excelled in studies have done so inspite of this system not because of it...just like that many great minds are buried in SWAT valley waiting to be discovered.

That is the question mark. Where is the fund if not being spent on development projects aka metro? I don't remember any investment on the development as far as i am concerned. Surely, the fund should not be issue if there is no investment on the development.

Unless the fund has been dispersed towards dharna that serves pointless entertainment at best?

Government of KPK .. Imran khan should see this and start focusing on it rather than bashing and abusing NS and parliament.. there is corruption in KPK, which IK and khatak don't want to acknowledge and solve.. Lets see if Supreme court take notice as they are very active against pmln ...

For a more accurate comparison on the situation, the author should have also stated the number of schools that were without basic amenities prior to PTI govt taking over.

Though I suppose it's possible the Army just likes the schools remain roofless.

The OP Dawn article is not perfect. What about the number of schools that have been rebuilt or newly-constructed since the Talibs were kicked out? And why haven't funds been allocated for playgrounds and toilets?

Indeed it is a file photo . As far as my limited knowledge is, there is no such initiative in Swat viz a viz roofless buildings.

The question is not that those schools were destroyed by ttp or in operation against ttp in 2009, question is why those schools are still not rebuilt?,why these schools still lack basic facilities? even when PTI's KPK govt's main slogans were education, health, police etc. why are these schools in such condition? its been almost 5 years you know since 2013 when PTI came into power in KPK... so file photo or not the valid question is why the education system is still in doldrums in kpk?
