Organisers of ‘sexy’ Iglesias show should be whipped, says Sri Lanka President

Well some section of the crowd especially juvenile ones is expected to act like one. Throwing inner-wear looks outright stupid especially the smelly bottom ones . But PM giving statement is not expected, he should be more focused on other national issues than this.

It was announced earlier today that the popular cartoon show SpongeBob SquarePants will be banned in Sri Lanka ‘forever and ever’. Explaining the decision, President Maithripala had this to say:

‘We do not need such cartoons here, about a place called ‘Bikini Bottom’. We are a proud nation and we do not need bikinis, and we certainly do not need bottoms. I warn the creators of these vulgar cartoons, where a deformed yellow boy runs around in his pants, to stay well away from our children, or a stingray’s poisonous tail awaits you.

‘I think a lot about underwear. As President it is my duty to ensure that everyone’s bras and underpants are safe, and that they do not get lost or stolen by foreign celebrities who come here under the pretense of performing concerts. It is my responsibility to safeguard the sanctity of our youth, and I will do whatever necessary to save them, even if it means whipping Enrique with a stingray tail.

I understand this event was managed by a company floated by cricketers Kumar Sangakarra and Mahela Jayawardene (pardon for spell mistakes). They had apologized for mismanagement in the event and had ordered an internal enquiry.

Whats interesting is when the acts of obscenity/sexy etc were happening where were the security folks and crowd controlling representtaives. Why did they not force such women off stage at that instant and handed over to authorities for public obscenity...

The post event comments does nt augur well as its more of a opinion and criticism. IF it was a decision taken by the mgmt team of handing over the ladies to authorities for necessary actions or throwing them out of the concert, it would have been a much better step and appreciated.

Its a lapse nonetheless. A good enquiry should be a way out for many important ppl including the organisers
