Pakistani authorities deserve all the credit for their resilience in countering insurgency. It is no secret that the people of Pakistan have rejected the misplaced ideology of the terrorists, and the brave nation of Pakistan continues to stand tall against those who pose a threat to the safety of the nation. We strongly commend the efforts of the Pakistani authorities and greatly appreciate their sacrifices in our shared efforts against extremists in the region. We fully support the government of Pakistan, and it is wish and desire to see peace prevail throughout the region. Our officials from highest level continue to meet regularly, and we hope to build on our improving relationship through shared assistance and cooperation.
