Volunteers helped KPK tourism dept in cleaning up mess left by tourists at Harnoi River banks
The mass littering left by the tourists on Eid-Ul-Fitr has now been completely cleared
Pakistan is brimming with tourist spots that showcase the large vistas, mountains, rivers, and forests. Among the many places to visit for recreational tourism is Abbottabad.
The Pakistani city has many attraction spots that draw out hundreds and thousands of tourists from across the country. These points of interest include Shimla Hills, Nathia Gali, Illyasi Masjid, St. Luke’s Chruch, Mushkpuri and Miranjani Peak, Thandiani, Dhamtoor, Sajikot Waterfall and Harnoi River.
This Eid-Ul-Fitr, a record number of tourists and visitors had visited the Harnoi River and other popular attractions in Abbottabad. But unfortunately, the tourists left a trail of mass garbage made out of plastic bottles, snack packs and various other trash destroying the image of these scenic spots, especially the banks of Harnoi River at the Harnoi Recreation Point and surrounding areas.
Volunteers and Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stepped in to clean scenic spots
Thankfully, the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launched a cleanliness campaign on Wednesday to remove the trash and other things littered among the banks of Harnoi River to bring it back to its full glory.
The TCKP collaborated with the volunteers of TechValley Abbottabad and Manchala Tours to make sure that Harnoi River and other scenic spots in the city were cleared of all garbage.
Creating awareness through campaign
The TCKP launched the cleanliness campaign to serve two purposes; one to clean the attraction spots of all garbage and trash, the other to spread awareness amongst people.
The campaign itself promotes awareness amongst tourists and visitors to take extreme care of the cleanliness of these beautiful spots and avoid littering while there.
As Pakistanis, it is our duty to make sure that we keep our scenic spots clean of dirt and trash. If we don’t care about the cleanliness of these beautiful spots, no one would do it for us.
The efforts by TCKP and the volunteers of TechValley and Manchala Tours is extremely commendable. Let’s join hands with their vision and try to keep the beauty of Pakistan intact.
