OH LOL!

The definition of poverty is making under $13,590/yr

However look at these numbers from China:

600m with $140 monthly income worries top

China is a populous developing nation with an average per capita income of 30,000 yuan ($4,196.33) per annum, but 600 million people have a monthly income of only 1,000 yuan

We are still a poor country...even Taiwan's per capita is over 8 times ours.

Cost of living is much lower in China. Especially in the rural areas where the low income people are.

You think the rural areas in the US are expensive?

Whether people live in the rural areas or the city the cost of having the latest phone, appliance, or car is still going to be a burden. They aren't going to sell them at a 90% discount in the rural areas.

According to that globaltimes article it was 2020 not a decade ago...but I never trust any mouthpiece of the Chinese government to be truthful. They are just known BS'ers.

I'll give more credence to your number then.

Well, you don't believe Chinese data. Then let's refer to your data that our per capita is 4196 US dollars, then our 1.4 billion people should be $5.8 trillion.

In other words, our economy is similar to that of India. OK, I'm going to sign up for the telephone fraud class.

This is the link you sent. The standard mentioned above is that the family income of four people is 27750 dollars, which is 6900 dollars per person.

LOL! The example 4 person scenario family is usually interpreted as 2 adults with 2 kids. So i don't see how you are expecting kids to be generating income to get their family above the poverty level. So it is $27,750/2.

Do you think the 600 million low-income people mentioned in China do not include the elderly and children?

There are only 620 million working age adults (aged 18 to 55) in China.

Why do Chinese data need to consider the elderly and children, but your data cannot consider the elderly and children?

.
Everyone can see thousands, if not millions, of homeless, sick, underfed people living in tent cities in the US. Where are these people in China, a country 4 times bigger in population. What the use of high GDP, when your people are so poor and dirty, and your government is lacking money, even for infrastructure, compared to shiny, excellent infrastructure in China or even (part of) North Korea.

The usual excuse from the West is "China hide them all", just like the case of North Korea.

Western logic as it is finest.

Korea's nominal GDP is higher than that of Russia, but the impact of Russia on world's economy has proved to be much larger.

As if the US doesn't have children or elderly?

The per capita formula is the same in the US as China ...so don't argue it isn't.

The only difference is the definition of who is poor by each country. The US says under ~$37/day. China is more closer to the UN definition of only a few dollars a day.

Yes, there are old people and children in America. The elderly and children are included in the calculation according to the same standard. The USA should be $6900, not $13590.

To be honest, I once lived in Germany for half a year on business. Germany has been one of the countries with the highest income in Europe, but I can see that the income of most German adults is only 12 euros per hour.

In addition, considering taxes and prices, I think that although the income of the Germans is better than that of the Chinese, there is not much difference between them and the Chinese in the central and eastern regions. Germany's better place is welfare and environment.

Sure, only the western media is capable of facts. Lol that’s why your understanding of the world is so delusional.
