What's new

OH 58 Kiowa Warrior donated to Croatia by USA, inspected by MDRC & ARRC team...

Well, they are scout in the US military, we uses MH-6/MD-500 for light attack role, also US uses MH-60 Gunship for light attack role too.

We had Defender 500 and its phased out...

One thing I need to mention is the Bell (not boeing, which I made a mistake earlier) actually closed the OH-58 production facilities and they won't be supplying OH-58 Spare parts to new customer anymore, plans were there to reopen the OH-58 parts production line ages ago, almost all replacement part are procured by Bell 406 production line (which OH-58D is based on) there may be shortage of Military Hardware for OH-58D depending on location and supply line. As far as I know most OH-58D were reusing recycle parts for non-mechanical spare.

USA will phase out Kiowa in 3 to 5 years and there are allies that are using... Critical parts, specially military hardware is still being produced for Kiowa one way or another and there are upgrade programms.

And If I remember correctly, you can only put 1 rocket pod each side, so you cannot put a Rocket pod and 50 cal on the same side.

You're wrong... You can put both .50 call on top and on bottom rocket pod... I saw the picture.

lol, MD-500 is MH-6, maybe we should also send some MH-6 little bird your way :)

Well, I don't think you need to worry about mechanical part, as long as Bell kept the Bell -206A production line running, you will get them thru that. But the military parts is another story, as I said before, the Bell plants on OH-58D has closed, and they will not make any more fire control computer and such to replace the old parts. They would need to source somewhere. Most likely they will be recycle or make via third party...

Don't know, that's why I said If I remember correctly, I have not seen a OH58D in like 13 years. Last Time I saw one I was in Iraq in 2003...

You can tell what kind of value the US places on it's "partners" by what kind of military garbage they dump on them. With a whopping 200 million defense budget, these things might even fly for a few years before the spare parts run out.

So your standards are that equipment in very good condition with very little use is garbage...

Budget of who? Croatian Armed Forces? Since when 835 million USD is 200 million USD? Few years? You're uninformed because Croatian Armed Forces are getting last Kiowa's that were produced between 2011 and 2012 that are barely used.

I'm not familiar with the condition, but the US is getting rid of these due to their vulnerability and very low survivability rates of the pilots in the Iraq war.

Then don't claim that it is garbage if you don't know the condition of it.
