What's new

OFB’s Bofors artillery gun will get upgraded 52mm calibre barrel from ATAGS Project

WTF!
ATAGS is supposed to be lightweight despite all the bells and whistles............including an autoloader. Dhanush L45 is 14 tons presumably using the same barrel chemistry as FH-77B - 80's era. How will they get the gun to come down to 12 tons despite of it having an L52 barrel?

On top of it they call it futuristic

Oye you smelly piece of sh1t. You don't even have a clue of what an artillery gun is or what their calibers are. You have no idea about Indian artillery acquisition process or why not a single gun could be inducted in past 30 years. All you know is come here and show the world how stupid you are. If you do not have a damn clue about a subject why do you come online here and embarrass your country you moron?

Before coming and crying here first learn what exactly is an artillery gun.

What are you still doing here you worthless turd. Go show somebody else what kind of a Moron you are. I am already convinced. Shoo.

Wrong presumptions, the barrel chemistry is obtained from Soltam's L/45 design, which was chosen for the OFB Metamorphosis project. So,in all likelihoods, the barrel chemistry of the Dhanush is different to that of the original FH 77B.

Provide source for claim, thanks.

This seems correct.

Yes,as far as I have heard. The OFB took the barrel and changed the muzzle baffle, which was a good decision if you ask me.Why reinvent something which they already had paid for??
Now back to the question, how do the duds plan on shaving off 2 tons while adding an autoloader and a metre in barrel length. Baba gun?

No idea really,in fact I've been wondering the same thing.May be by using more amount of some Ti-Mg alloys like that of the BAE M777,hard to say at this moment.

The army needed this artillery 15 years ago. Id like to see some deliveries. There is too much talk going on.
