Party sources told Dawn that MQM members from the Senate, Sindh Assembly and the National Assembly have been asked to submit their resignations. "They are submitting their resignations because of the drama going on in Pakistan for one month," said a party member while requesting anonymity.

When asked if this move is a bid to express solidarity with the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), the official said no.

Some channels reported that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain had ordered party members to submit their resignations at Nine-Zero, the party's headquarters in Karachi.

MQM members, who are attending the ongoing National Assembly session, are expected to submit their resignations to the convener upon their return to Karachi.

An official from the MQM media cell said that the resignations were being gathered as MQM can no longer be a part of this corrupt system.

The resignations come at a time when the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) are holding protests and sit-ins against the current political system and are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif whose government they call the outcome of a rigged election.

In his address on the floor of the National Assembly, Opposition leader Syed Khursheed Shah had also said: "I have heard a political party is pondering resignations... this will bring a storm."

It's shameful that army was dragged into this dirty politics. I don't believe army had anything to do with this. It was General Pasha who was advising Imran Khan.

and it was in Musharaf's welfare that all this started, if PMLN comes on top in this darama then Musharaf is the biggest looser in this.

Army never left the politics. All those who think they did are fools. They just shifted their attention more towards other matters but they are still there.

I respect all the jawans, Lt, Majors, Col and what not of this army. But they are not angels and are subject to criticism, Check and balance. You asking for hanging people just because of some criticism makes you no better than a taliban.

My few ¥s MQM in all this up and down played very well, Bhai couple of times asked NS to resign for sake of country and put his dignity away for this cause, other hand mqm parliamentarian members
stay with Parliament and didn't say a single word( if I miss something my apology in advance ) that PM should resign. Governor Ishrat ul Ibad play a very positive role in between govt and PAT wrestling, it's my personal opinion that MQM was a big player in all this from start but they show their cards according the situation. Bhai sometime warn bring Karachi to ISD and some time he press for peaceful and democratic solution.
PMLN with a weak position from start was in favor of MQM to show it's importance the cards they hold, bent down PMLN nicely and in parliament they bash PM and PMLN about making a kingdom in the name of democracy.
Recently I'm judging that both MQM and PTI are silent to bash each other and it's long before from current crises, IK not taking much about Sind Election result and he just focus his guns on PMLN specially in Punjab, this shows two things
1. He accept MQM mandate and don't Wana waste his energies in this issue 2.may be in back door policy PTI and MQM closing their distances on few issues with help of PAT and Mushraff.
On topic, the resignation demand by party leader from Parliamentarian members another moral favor to PATPTI and as usual as per MQM moves on the crises little late after watching other's moves, as dialogues started again, PTI move to send their delegation to National Assembly, and crises seems to be finish.
The things get more clear tonight after AH address to Rabeta committee.

Don't worry one call from Saudis and Musharraf will be out

People are throwing criticism at the army for not supporting noora's government, not for democracy. These patwaris don't know what a democracy is even if it hit them straight in the face. There is no democracy in Pakistan. There has never been any democracy in Pakistan. So please, spare me the moral argument on the topic of criticism.
