Not One Penny’ of Aid for Pakistan Until Asia Bibi Is Freed – Rand Paul

. .
Have a look at the OP and tell me how its not a sequel to his theatrics that have Pakistan complicit in something that better could have been dealt with covertly?
There are innocent and weak in every country and they have to put up with so much worse. I can name such states to illustrate my point, but that would be counter productive. A lot is pushed under the wraps in the better interests of the state and Pakistan doesn't have to be an exception.

People in India didn't have ban on beef laws, but that never stopped Hindu mobs from lynching those who they suspected of consuming beef.

Instead of barking at us to change our religion and society, why not lead by example?

Let me know when violent rapes, mob lynchings, and political theatrics about religion and race end in India.

Add libturds, self-haters, islamophobes, dollar-khor pigs to your list.

“I believe in my religion and in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of mankind.”
These are words that many Christians have said, or something similar. Even if you haven’t said them, you most certainly believe in your neighbor’s right to say them. But for too many people around the globe, words such as these can be a death sentence. I’ve made it a personal mission of mine in office to stop the United States from funding or being allied with places that persecute Christians.

One such case is Pakistan and the story of Asia Bibi, a Christian who was on death row for blasphemy. She says it all began when she drew water from a Muslim villager’s well. A few days after the initial incident, where she made the statement mentioned above, she was confronted by a crowd chanting, “Death! Death to the Christian!” She pleaded for her life. She was pelted with stones, punched in the face, and dragged through the streets. The local Imam finally intervened only to say, “If you don’t want to die, you must convert to Islam.” The crowd descended on her again, beating her with sticks. She refused.

Finally, the police stopped the attackers, only to arrest her. They put her in jail, where she remained from 2010 to last month. She was recently released from Pakistan prison, but she is not free.

Amid protests in Pakistan from the extremist TLP party, the government has now refused to let her leave the country, putting her on their no-fly list. The protests and threats continue. It is only a matter of time before she is killed.

That’s why I’ve asked President Trump to personally intervene and to urge the Pakistani government to release Asia Bibi to the United States.

I’ve been trying to fight for Asia Bibi for years now. I spoke about her in speeches starting in 2012. I wrote about her in op-eds and in one of my books.

During my time in Congress, I have introduced legislation to directly go after Pakistan’s foreign aid and turn up the pressure on them to release Asia Bibi and stop persecuting religious minorities.

Until Asia Bibi is freed, Pakistan should not receive a penny of U.S. aid! Not one penny should go to any nation that persecutes or kills Christians!

You would think your representatives would get that message, but they don’t. In 2014, I pushed legislatively to stop foreign aid to any country that gives the death penalty or life in prison to Christians for religious choices. Both Republicans and Democrats voted overwhelmingly to continue funding countries that persecute Christians. The committee voted 16-2 to keep sending aid to such countries.

I can assure you this wouldn’t be the result if we let Americans vote on it. Common sense isn’t so common in Washington, D.C., so I’ve been fighting this uphill battle on foreign aid subsidizing the war on Christianity for years, nearly alone.

But Donald Trump has the chance to do things differently. He’s already signed legislation taking away aid from the Palestinian Authority, and he also taken away some aid from Pakistan for other problems.

He has the chance to both fix a huge human rights problem while attacking the D.C. foreign policy swamp that loves foreign aid more than nearly anything else.

Asia Bibi deserves asylum in the United States. She deserves real freedom. And Americans deserve to know their tax dollars aren’t being sent to subsidize a country’s war on Christianity.

.The case was throughly investigated and the court went through the details from the accusations to the verdict of the lower courts, no where was she dragged around, pelted with stones and forced to change her religion. She did however spent ten years in jail which is extremely unforntunate which should be compensated.

you can take the outdated laws on blasphemy off the books
you would not have cases like this to begin with
we can't insult other religions and other religion prophet if we do we're out of Islam automatically, so why we erase blasphemy law, its has core reason ins Islam, why we sustain insult of our prophet (PBUH) from other religions, get your pathetic logic out of here @nahtanbob :hitwall::hitwall::blah::blah::blah:

. .
See what i told u guys before......we now must send her to gallows regardless of her being guilty or not........We must stand for our pride and sovereignty and our Islamic dominance a few 'Pakistanis' who dont even live in Pakistan nor hold her passport cant change that on this forum.

Our courts are yet to prosecute anybody in the blasphemy case, while have a history of letting people go who r proven convicts of blasphemy ie the moderators of Bhensa, Mochi and Roshni pages.

Yet they don’t change themselves. Their BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena cadres spout anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistani hate speech daily.

They want us to change however.

I have a question for these Hindutva bigots: How many times have they heard Modi insult Islam and Pakistan? Have they ever heard Imran Khan say anything bad about Hindus or India?

This is the difference between a hate-monger like Modi and a genuine leader like Imran Khan.

Stop painting all religious Pakistanis with the brush of TLP. We support her 100% and we also want stronger action against Khadim Hussain Rizvi.

We are one nation so let us stand with our government and support the innocence verdict.

Ron was much better than Rand,.

They are both crazy. Believing in unfettered free market capitalism is the death of the consumer and common man to the advantage of major corporations.

The only major American politician who I respect was Ralph Nader, a Lebanese American Christian who always supported Palestinian rights and vehemently fought against the wars of Afg/Iraq.

I met him several times, great human being and most of all, an advocate for the common
man (we owe mandatory seat belt/airbag laws to him.)

I would never insult any religion or religious figure but seriously some of the ignorance and fanaticism on here make me sick. No it doesn't have any core reason in islam-the blasphemy law really only into effect in the 80s during the Zia era. Muslims lived for decades without it before just fine and it never existed during the time of the prophet (pbuh) does any (civilized) Muslim country implement this law ? It does nothing positive for Islam and is especially dangerous when implemented in an illiterate and heavily armed country like just is more ammo for Pakistan to be showed as barbaric country.
Can you show where in the Quran it says to murder someone if they criticism the prophet (pbuh) ? did he even ever say or do anything in his lifetime to action such a law ? the fact that even innocent Muslims like poor Mashal Khan themselves have been killed by it should show proof of it's danger and it's more pathetic that Pakistan has still not learned from that.
The blasphemy law is a MAN MADE LAW which has been used as political tool to incite murder and violence against innocent minorities.
The fact that so many support it is sad state of affairs and shows an inability to defend themselves intellectually. If You want to prove the critics wrong and honour Islam then do it by spreading the good word and in your day to day actions no need to support killing people.
