No it did play the double game. I never said it didnt.
But officially you were supporting the US led NATO against the Taliban for 20 years. So there are 2 things:
1. This didnt antagonize the Taliban even when you played the double game (they seem to be very tolerant these days. May be they want to get all the support they can)

2. Pakistan lost all credibility of a genuine partner (at least for the NATO if not for anyone else)

Both of these points were your wish list, sadly for you neither the taliban think Pakistan betrayed them nor the americans seem to be in the mood to blame Pakistan, incase you were living under a rock, do listen to Biden's speech. So yeah we came out fine on both accounts however cant say the same about India.
You have played the role of a spoiler for so long that even your closet allies such as Russia isnt willing to accommodate you or listen to your so called concerns neither is the US.
