It is despicable for CPC to put Liu's wife under house arrest.

To some extent, it appears even thuggish!

What can the woman do? To set up a revolution?

Even putting Liu in prison for 11 years is not neccesary. The maximum would be temporar house arrest in my view.

This Prize is only a symbolic token. Why CPC can't even tolerant a tiny jibe like this?

In principle, however, I despise Nobel Peace Prize ever since Al Gore got it, as it has become a political tool to sidekick China, even though I don't neccesarily agree with what Liu did ( just too premature).

CPC Nevertheless is not saint either by arresting anyone who has a slightly different political opinion from theirs. In this sense only, I welcome this Peace Prize given to Liu, because the prize could serve as sort of "counter balance" to CPC hardliners' strict political control. More political counter balance to corupted CPC, internally or externally, could only serve the interests of ordinary Chinese people in China better in the long run.

Yes, she is under house arrest (even without actually based on), but at least it is a luxury. I think she may also be satisfied, which is price, fair.

I just feel Nobel Prize Of Peace more and more funny. All the people against communizim ,communist contry or the contry can threat the west would have high possibility to win the prize. And When could the Indians realise that not all the West said is the Truth? Comparing with the Truth, the benefit is more important to the West.

If Indian has the power as China, you would have to face the same from the West.

Brother, enemies put their words into your mouth and you recite the words without thinking anything.

People's Republic of China is a country that is ruled by law.

The police are deployed there in front of that prostitute's mansion to protect her. Its not house arrest as enemies are saying.

Liu Xiaobo is as bad as CCP, and I see no need for such 'counterbalance'.

Also I wouldn't say CCP is 'arresting anyone who has a slightly different political opinion from theirs', Liu Xiaobo got a jail term, but rest of Charter 08's signatories didn't.

I think the CCP's original intention is probably to jail Liu for a few years then exile him to the U.S for 'medical reasons'. But now with the Noble Prize Mr.Liu probably will have to serve the full sentence.

You know speaking out against your govt. is not necessarily the sign of being a traitor. I think all Asian countries (including India) and USA suffer from this syndrome. I've also been called a traitor to India sometimes because I don't agree to the views of the establishment all the time. Does that mean I say what I say with ill-feeling toward India or because I have my own views on how I think India can better?

I don't think there is any necessity to bring CPC in this judicial issue. The judiciary is independent and it will decide according to the law. CPC cannot violate Constitution.

He violated the Constitution. Don't miss this point.

If liu event happened about a decade ago, I would have had been against his view. However, as China develops rapidly in economy with massive middle class coming into being across the cities, the time comes nearer and nearer for systemic political reform, without which China's truly rise will be compromised.

By political reform, I don't neccesarily mean that CPC must be ousted. As long as another political party is allowed to become constitutional legal (in real sense, not just on paper), it would form a much needed counter balance to CPC to prevent corruptions and provide fairer social justice, both of which are severely undermining China's economic development right now.

I admire the courage of people like Liu, though not neccesarily agree entirely with what he said ( i.e. colony stuffs etc). Despite all the minor detail, I regard Liu as one of China's true patriots.
