No visa ban on Pakistanis by Kuwait: Ambassador

KARACHI: Pakistan’s ambassador in Kuwait on Wednesday said that Kuwait hasn’t placed a visa ban on Pakistani nationals.

Ghulam Dastagir said that news on social media about the ban are baseless, further adding that same news had sprung up in 2011.

Earlier, a newspaper claimed that Kuwait has banned nationals from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. It claimed that the ban included on tourism, visit and trade visas as well as visas sponsored by spouses.

I think we need to wait for official confirmation from Interior ministry of Kuwait.

Thats really good to hear. There is sizeable Pakistani community in Kuwait and have not been involved in major terror incidents so it does not make sense to ban them for no reason

On a serious note, I have been hearing about such ban since 2011 but having said that there are 8-10 people from my area in Pakistan who are living in Kuwait since last few years. It is also true that most of them had Saudi Iqama and moved to Kuwait but there is surely no carpet ban on Pakistanis... Yes about strict rules

Is this Ambassador drunk or its totally a false news. Pakistanis are banned in Kuwait since 2011. My friend there who got a job there just before the ban used to met his wife in Dubai for 2 continuous years until the arrangement was finally made. The ban still maintains there.

Look at Saudi and UAE ministers statements over Trump ban so this should be any surprise to us.

So you are saying Kuwait never ban Paksitanis ?Ahm..This news was re-floated again with dated 2011.So practically there is no new ban ..there was a ban from 2007 and in 2014 they just agree to relax ban for some situations..In essence there is unannounced ban..

Ban is for newer visas and its not new. I see many people from my area who are working in Kuwait and they are having business there. They visit Pakistan frequently and then go back to Kuwait again.

PS I a against these strict rules which Kuwait applies to Pakistanis.

I hope and wish this news piece is true. Or it could be that the Kuwait foreign ministry itself has not communicated itself on the issue as yet and the ban is in place.
