Another day, another comic attempt to downplay India in Nepal. It has ceased to be funny and now its just sad. :(

Intellectually challenged or disingenuous people who don't know the difference between GoI and NGOs aside, I would like to find if this is really the sentiment of the people on the ground or some silly Nepal government officials.

On topic, there is a saying, 'beggars can't be choosers'. The arrogance to reject 'used' clothing when a third of your already poor country has been shattered and you have no ability to help yourself is just astounding.

This is not a big a matter, actually not even worth anyone serious reacting to, but it is surprising. One would think that they would be grateful for whatever help they get, but th world is made of strange people, I can only hope this is a small section and not representative of Nepalese people in general.

It may be true Nepal might be damaged. Individual Nepalis might find old clothing offensive and beneath their self-respect
I am not supporting them. Different folks have different values

Shame on you India. You are the most disgusting and horrible people on Earth.

Don't you people have even an iota of shame?

It is too harsh but I know why Pakistanis are reacting like this, it is because how the Indians ridiculed Pakistan left and right with respect to beef curry. Well, what can I say, for according to Newton's 3rd law of motion, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

India will spend $$$ in rebuilding Nepal...Can you? So let us not compare India to Pakistan.

Its not that big a deal and sure if people's values deter them from wearing used clothes, that's their call. However, refusing aid when you can't help yourself, ironically seems a tad rich and worse still, ungrateful to those who helped you.

I may be too late....

but that report has nothing to do with shame..Many people donates their old cloths for aid,be it for earthquake,or flood or for whatever.but what most NGOs and persons doesn't know, most countries doesn't take Old Cloths.many NGOs suggest to sell second hand cloths and to donate that money to NGOs,which may serve better purposes.

In most cases when some catastrophic event occurs, most aid various NGOs/Governments send doesn't apply for region, also carrying cost are factors beside it.but then,it has nothing to do with ill intentions etc.they simply lack knowledge of what is applicable.Just like Pakistani Beef and Chinese Pork and Yak meat..Nepal received massive amount of aid of every kind, but many items are not applicable for Nepal.

even this site mentioned it..
